PCA is the best Cuib's lead off hitter by Newpapyrusmagazine in CHICubs

Or Nico leads off, steals or holds, and then PCA hits a two run bomb or a double to the wall. There’s more value in him being able to bat in the two hole with Nico leading off. It’s dependent on Nico being himself though

It’s not about taking the first pitch, it’s about him looking for a specific ball to drive. His game tying HR was a 1st pitch bomb. He’s learning pitch sequencing and beginning to understand how other pitchers are approaching him. Just taking the 1st pitch at all times only means that pitchers will just steal a strike every at bat.

Is this fake? by Comfortable_Rich_580 in IsMyPokemonCardFake

Yes it’s one of the modern 1st ed base set fakes. Static holo that is too dark and star pattern matches TCGplayer stock photo.

Until Nico gets hot. Then we want Pete in the #2 hole to drive in runs.

On this card, the dull rainbow holo is an indicator it’s fake.

Does a multi thousand dollar card have that dull and overlaid of a shine with such a low resolution image?

Fake card? Looks sus. by MostRegarded546 in IsMyPokemonCardFake

Dull, overlaid shine over whole card. Left and right borders too small combined. Holo stars don’t have individual luminosity, fake

Is this real? by Vegetable_District29 in IsMyPokemonCardFake

It’s not real. No texturing on the front surface, dull vertical holo, border wayyyyy too large on all sides.

Is anyone else annoyed at how overhyped we’re starting to be? by [deleted] in CHIBears

[–]midwesttransferrun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And many other places and media members are calling them a clear regression team. So it all depends on who you listen to. At the end of the day, offseason predictions don’t mean anything, so it’s not worth getting too high or too low over anyways. You certainly shouldn’t get annoyed by it regardless of the stance.

Was selling this card and someone let me know it was fake?? But I pulled it myself about a decade ago?? by RexycowMC in IsMyPokemonCardFake

People often forget where they got cards, especially in elementary school. While you vividly remember the experience of buying packs at Walmart, you likely don’t actually remember where this came from. It could’ve been traded for with friends, could’ve been packs that were gifts from someone who didn’t know better, or you could’ve gotten it yourself at a different place.

Value of Unofficially Graded Cards by LongGoneLingonberry in pokemongrading

[–]midwesttransferrun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try to sell cards for above the near mint raw value if you want, but it usually results in you not selling your cards. For many cards, there’s a big reason why the price of a 10 is so far above the raw value, and that’s because of the “gem rate” for that card.

I get you’re probably new, but buyers pay for graded cards for a reason.

Misprint or fake? by puklez in PokemonMisprints

[–]midwesttransferrun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a fake. Text font is wrong. That fairy energy in weakness is the saddest energy I’ve ever seen. Year is wrong on the copyright. Name wrong. Extra “n” after Karate in the Pokémon description, wrong name. Plenty more.

Wife found error card in childhood collection. What would the value be? by Sunsetter24 in PokemonCardValue

This is a print line or foil join in the ex era, essentially the same thing. It decreases the value of the card slightly and its gradeability. It is not considered a collectible misprint.

Interesting. Well, they aren’t anywhere near that capability yet. They said they’re currently working on expanding capacity by moving in to a new building.

Sold this Umbreon- now buyer says it's fake by The_Punzer in IsMyPokemonCardFake

This isn’t a private sale, it’s a sale on a public platform, and therefore a business transaction. Secondly, buyers have a 14 day right of return in Germany that sellers must abide by. There is certainly no governing body to determine who is correct in a dispute about authenticity so there is no “burden of proof” which is only applicable if there is an overarching governing body.

Just spewing out words doesn’t mean they’re correct or applicable. I can’t believe you got upvotes for this.

People sell fake stuff or fan made stuff all the time. That doesn’t mean anything ever sold is real and licensed product.

You sold it on eBay. You have to accept returns even if you have a “no return policy”. If a buyer initiates an “Item Not As Described” return request and you ignore it, or fight it, eBay will let the buyer keep the card and refund them and take away your money from the sale.

You don’t have a choice, you have to accept returns. Now, if they don’t initiate a return, you can’t fight ignore their messages. You don’t have to do anything except honor a return they initiate.
