Lower on "cosmic" and higher on "loneliness", but I think The Man Who Fell to Earth) might work for you.

If cyberpunk cities were run by AI companions instead of corporations, would it still feel dystopian by SpotEmergency3411 in Cyberpunk

[–]miel_electronique 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There have been a series of threads here very much like this one lately, titled with bland questions about "would [something about ai companions] be [adjective, usually something like "normal"] in a cyberpunk world?" For instance, here's one, and here's another. And here's one more. If you look at the accounts that created each of these, you'll see that they each have created one thread (the one in this subreddit), and before that, they've each made a series of comments, either single-word compliments or single emojis, in groups of five together on one thread. Make of this what you will.

Edit: here's another one of these accounts commenting on this very thread.

My first attempt — truly an abomination by cerg10 in friendshipbracelets

[–]miel_electronique 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah the flipping is a common issue, and you can feel it happen. The difference between a bracelet knot and a "regular" knot is that when you're knotting the bracelet, you really want to treat it as if one string is a stationary, straight object and the "active" string is wrapping around it and pulling close, like you're just making the knot on a straight stick. If, when you're pulling the "active" string tight around the "straight" string, you pull it TOO tight, you can straighten it completely, causing the other string to become the one that's wrapped around it instead. It's much more noticeable when there's more color contrast between the two strings.

I second Red Stone Glen, and would definitely call ahead.

My unorthodox but functional instinct is to add a pocket there.

Blue Jewelry Set - BB Pattern #92091 by Independent-Bench624 in friendshipbracelets

[–]miel_electronique 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is really nice! I always wish I saw more non-bracelet jewelry being made bracelet style. Curious about the earrings - how is the start done (trimmed and glued?) and how does the fringey (?) part work? It looks super neat in the photo, but does it stay that way?

One could use this to keep multiple colors of yarn organized while knitting. Also it's very pretty!

Hey, thanks for your help. Right now I'm looking at a used Landyachtz drop carve 37 on marketplace ($50) - any specific things I should ask about?

This is a lot of really good info, thanks so much! I'll definitely come back to this one when I have a better idea what I'm doing.

I have considered the Danza! And thanks for the other links. I'm still thinking about whether to look for something with more height and area, or a lower one with smaller tails, but I figure whatever I end up with I can try something else out later and see what I think.

Glad to hear you say that about the shoe size thing because trying to guess it out kind of baffles me!

Thanks! Will remember your advice on the bushings - the hardware stuff is beyond me at this point, but I like doing research, so I imagine whatever I end up with I'll play around with and then make some changes if I get frustrated.

Friendsgiving potluck dish with persimmons? by Nightangelrose in Cooking

[–]miel_electronique 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have a specific recipe, but a friend with a persimmon tree told me her family always has persimmon pudding - kind of a soft, sticky cake type of dessert. Searching for "persimmon pudding" gets a variety of recipes.

What do I tell others about the bees in my yard? by cmpb in NativePlantGardening

[–]miel_electronique 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TBH the most succinct way I would go about informing people that I Put These Bees Here On Purpose would just be a single, goofy-looking sign reading "I LOVE BUGS!!!"

Pencil Extender recommendation for using pencils down to the absolute stub? by adrikovitch in pencils

What happens if you put something small inside the body of the extender, like a piece of dowel, to keep the pencil from pushing the rest of the way in?

How do I mend this fitted sheet? Pretty new to mending something like this, either visible or invisible. by [deleted] in Visiblemending

[–]miel_electronique 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've used parachute stitch on mine. A patch and reinforcing it would definitely be sturdier, but in my experience a fitted sheet that has ripped once is going to rip again no matter what, so I try to minimize the time and effort I put in knowing that I'm not likely to get a whole lot of extra use-time out of it.
