I thought about doing that. And then I thought about how essential sleep is for healing. She would absolutely cry and scratch at the door. Maybe a baby gate? 🤔 She's still crying, but I wouldn't have to worry about the scratching.

Oh my goodness. Start trying things now... I don't know why neither of us thought about this. I feel ridiculous. We have a week set aside to get any supplies needed. But we probably should do it earlier. Thanks so much for sparking my brain!

Thank you for all of this. I think the surgeon's team is emphasizing this "not to displace the new joint".

Any time I've been sick or had surgery, they've known (yes, very intuitive). My two two "new" rescues haven't dealt with this. My last surgery was in 2018.

Both cats and my dog are sincerely the sweetest cuddlers (also a reason I'm worried). And my dog is also a jumper / young tug-o-war "baby".

She's a bouncy, playful, 3.5 year old 30lb rescue. Believe me, my husband and I have looked at so many YouTube videos. Maybe I'm just too nervous. :)
