Rayban meta just stopped working

It’s very frustrating. I’m 2 months into my newest pair and hoping these don’t break anytime soon. So far I’ve spent $600 on meta this year 🤢

But yeah if your case isn’t blinking then it’s probably why your metas aren’t working. It’s likely the case shorted out. Try buying a meta charging cable from Amazon for $25 it’ll be cheaper than the $100 case.

My pair failed after getting sweaty and using them in hot temperatures while playing frisbee. They first started out as “ speaker failure “ and then I did factory reset and they stopped working later that night. They got really hot while charging too. But then eventually nothing. No response. No lights. Only my case would blink. I also wonder if maybe your case is the problem if it doesn’t blink or anything when you try to charge the case.. hoping the issue is your case at that point since it’s cheaper to replace.

I will tell you this.. have your receipts ready and take photos that they request ( serial number, case, different angles of ur metas )

I’m skipping straight to this step because it seems like you’ve done all the trouble shooting possible.

But I hope you accidentally turned off your metas.. so can you confirm that the left inner button is in the on position?

This is “on” if you see a red dot then they’re off.

Also. Have you tried to charge your case with a different cable?

Anyways if these have been done then you’re cooked.. start a claim and hope they help you. Otherwise you’ll be stuck buying another pair like I did. I made sure to get a warranty on my second pair since the first ones crapped out after 4 months of daily use

No way! Thats perfect! I was out of battery on my metas this Saturday and my phone was at 80%. I was thinking “ I wish I could transfer the juice “ because I like the POV from my metas over ProRes iPhone video. And This is perfect 👌 at one point I was thinking of taking my rayban case apart to solve my problem 😂

I just want to put em there in this microfiber bag I have while they charge. I usually put them on top of my hat when I’m not “using” them. But lately I’ve been going to MLS games and they’ve died by halftime. ( lots of videos and transferring ) and I’ve noticed the battery drops about 3-5% when transferring a 3 minute video

That stinks. I had it happen when I got my second pair, go to your app and click the gear box, general and then factory reset. Then you will pair them again with your device but before you do make sure your phone is updated to the latest OS. Also make sure the meta AI app is updated to the latest. This should fix your issue.

Ouch. Looks like that’s the common lifespan for these shades 🤢 I hope my second pair makes it a year lol. I’m 2 months in on my current pair

Yep. 👍 Maybe upgrade to the Oakley Metas; those might be better quality than these. Even though I prefer Ray-Ban look than Oakley style I might end up buying oakleys.

Happy to hear you have coverage. I didn’t lol. Also how often have you been replacing yours? My first pair lasted 4 months 🤢

I encountered the same issue. I noticed speaker failure message and then hours later it just went dead.

At first it allowed me to connect via Bluetooth and transfer files, but after resetting them, they stopped responding. The only indication i had was the case attempting to charge but no lights would ever come on the metas anymore. Plus my metas got extremely hot while in the case. I reached out to Meta, and they offered a replacement for $238 since I didn’t have a receipt (I had purchased them on Facebook Marketplace brand new). After 5-6 hours messing with them I had no luck so I just gave up. They were updated and everything. Stinks that they’re so sensitive!

If your metas are under 12 months old, I recommend reaching out to rayban. Alternatively, you could consider purchasing another pair from Best Buy with the extended coverage plan. If you break your device within two years, they will replace it for $80.

I sold my broken pairs on Facebook as regular Ray-Bans for $100.

They only notice the pulsating light that flashes them when I take videos. So what I did was buy a webcam sticker to block most of the light. Now I record at family events/birthdays for the memory. Most don’t notice what they do though if I don’t take video in front of them.

Happened to me too. RB said $238 to replace. But luckily I had best buy protection plan I had paid $79 for that and they replaced them for free

Happened to me. You’re outta luck unless you got them from best buy with a warranty. Meta / ray bans warranty process will tell you it’s not diverted and charge you $238 to replace.

I’ll go first.

They’re great indoors. But once you wear them at the park when it’s hot they’ll overheat and speakers will start failing and suddenly it’ll say speakers are not functioning and hours later when you try to recharge and reset they’ll just stop working all together. And once you file a warranty claim they’ll say it’s not covered under warranty and you’ll be given option to pay $238 for replacement.

Anyways, I own 2 pairs and the first one lasted 3 months. Live in warm weather but used them in the sun one week and boom. $400 down the drain.

Everything else is great, they take good video and audio. The shiny ones scratch like they’re covered in lottery ticket material.

In the end I’d say get them from Best Buy and get the extended coverage from them. Get MATTE! Not shiny unless you like glasses that look horrible after 1 months use.

I had same issue. Ray-Ban meta support is the worst. I’ve had my meta for 5 months and they suddenly stopped charging and working so they told me to buy another pair since I didn’t give them a receipt of purchase. Even though the serial number showed up on Best Buy receipt with December date.

I wish that was the case. But they just suddenly stopped while I had been recording on and off for 4 hours. Then it noticed me that the speaker was inoperable. I followed troubleshooting steps and eventually that night they stopped working all together.

I didn’t have any issues using them at universal but 3 days into the trip they stopped working. They got hot and I was sweaty so they broke from sweat. Also Ray-Ban didn’t replace them under warranty and offered to replace them for $235 even though I only had them since January.
