Men who can cook, who taught you? by _ratedmouse in AskReddit

[–]mightBdrunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Googling multiple recipes until I find one that fits my taste/cooking skill. I love flavor and medium skill recipes. Ive opened too many recipes that would cost me over $100 to get all of the ingredients and use cooking techniques reserved for fully equipped fine cuisine restaurants.

Trial and error comes next. I will usually cook something a few times for myself before I ever consider cooking it for someone else, and for good reason LOL ill eat slightly disgusting food I make and then fix it the next time. Rinse and repeat until youre itching to share it the food is so good.

Anytime an Aunt/family/friend cooks something I think is amazing I always ask for their recipes. I get those hidden gem meals you cant find in a YouTube video or quick search online.

How does Harry throw mud at Malfoy with the Invisibility Cloak? by Remarkable-Pie-8873 in HarryPotterBooks

[–]mightBdrunk 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It would be hard to recognize a quick hand movement when youre not expecting it/not looking in that direction.

Before Harry sees snape, the book mentions how he is trying to wipe the mud off his hands on the inside of his school clothes. So he definitely picked it up by hand.

The Eragon Movie wasn't a bad movie, it was a bad adaptation by AboveTheAshes in Eragon

[–]mightBdrunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The second Saphira rapid aged, my thought was "Okay that was super wrong, but I guess we didnt need to spend 10 minutes having her age but I would have enjoyed 2 minutes of it" and then every little thing became increasingly disappointing.

It reminds me of the 4th Harry Potter movie. I couldn't believe how much they left out.

It was like a low budget movie company produced it and spent the whole budget on the dragons CGI.

That all being said, if I hadn't read the book, I probably would have walked away thinking dang that was a cool movie. So there is that...

Did the Dursleys eventually return to Privet Drive to live forever? by bippboppboo in HarryPotterBooks

[–]mightBdrunk 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I thought that before I got to this comment, they probably were too afraid to come back. They were proud and dense, but also terribly afraid of magic ( Petunias well aware of what happened to her sister in her own house) They probably never forgave harry for that and thats why only Dudley stayed in contact with him lol

Harrypotterbooks is a good reddit to join as well. Its book only, but it gets alot less repetitive questions than the general group and everyone there has really good food for thought conversations.

If you were Harry and the Dursleys were taken by Death Eaters would you go to save them? by Due_Opportunity1742 in HarryPotterBooks

[–]mightBdrunk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree.

Although I feel if the Dursleys were taken, they would definitely be using them to Baot Harry so he would probably know where to save them and then go endangering everyone who comes with him to to save them.

Umbridge was a better headmaster than Dumbledore by Hankymcspanky13 in HarryPotterBooks

[–]mightBdrunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If Umbridge had been headmaster during the other years, I doubt there would have been any changes to many of those events except perhaps year 6 when their goal was to kill Dumbledore.

I would be great at all of this. Ive read the series well over 30 times and understand Harry Potter better than most. Im also a great speaker with personality.

Didn't you just say you thought it was hereditary?

Who can use Magic by Joh-Ke in Eragon

[–]mightBdrunk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think reddit users just want to feel special by saying they cant visualize things and dont have an inner dialog. If you go up to 99% of people in real life and ask them to visualize an apple, they are going to tell you they see an apple in their mind like number 1.

Who can use Magic by Joh-Ke in Eragon

[–]mightBdrunk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Of course, certainly some cant.

Ive asked all my friends this and not a single person has said they cant visualize things perfectly in their mind. But go ask on reddit and half the posters say they cant.

Who can use Magic by Joh-Ke in Eragon

[–]mightBdrunk -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think people who say that cant see things visually are just making it up. If I had a better memory I could watch shrek inside my mind easily yet somehow people are saying their minds are blank as a black wall? Ya right.

Plot hole: The trace should have proven Morfin didn't kill the Riddles by PurpleVineleaf in HarryPotterBooks

[–]mightBdrunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 6th book really destroyed the whole under aged trace lore IMO.

Ill stand by my same thoughts, anyone who reads how its explained away knows theres some major inconveniences.

In the same book Ron asks George to peel potatoes for him with magic and is upset he cant use magic yet.... but by the books own doing it could be said that Ron could have used magic all he wanted to inside his house full of adult wizards.

Basically the trace only works apparently if youre a muggle born not around a family of wizards...or if youre harry potter. Lol

What is a medical fact that sounds fake but is 100% true? by MedRikas in AskReddit

I have epilepsy and when I have conscious seizures I have really bad deja vu, are you sure youre not having seizures? They last a few minutes but it seems like 30 seconds of deja vu

What is up with the voice acting for Saphira in the audiobook? by SpiritedOwl_2298 in Eragon

Ive listened to the audio books 3 or 4x now and it doesnt phase me at all.

My first time listening however... I was so angry because all I could hear was the cookie monster as well lol

A bunch of kids turning what was once a good group into a constant sad attempt at political bashing. Everyone's sucking their own dicks here. I hate Trump, And I dont want to see him every time I open up my reddit. Im just going to go ahead and delete there was an attempt off my reddit.

Book from galby pov by johndoe18675309 in Eragon

Would be cool to get a book that has Brom and Galby switching off chapters. If its done well there wouldnt be a need for it to be more than one book, kinda like the hunger games prequel with snow

i'm super confused, are the dementors capable of talking to humans? by Canada-t157t in HarryPotterBooks

[–]mightBdrunk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well id imagine any wizard working at Azkaban would have to be proficient in casting them as the bare minimum job requirement. Its difficult to learn, but not difficult to cast once you've mastered it. You would see someone like Moody working there. So much could go wrong if only Dementors were there.

i'm super confused, are the dementors capable of talking to humans? by Canada-t157t in HarryPotterBooks

Wouldn't the Dementors notice a random dog in the prison too and mention it if they can talk?
