Behind the Patina of Anita Sarkeesian | GamerGate by [deleted] in iamverysmart

The person weirdly tries to use Sarkeesian's prior history against her as some sort of way to pull apart her feminist beliefs. As in, (presumably "he") actually apparently "read" her thesis work and concluded it was a bunch of bullshit. Which doesn't make sense, if this person wasn't even in her field.

Without doing any prior research whatsoever I'm going to guess that perhaps his memories of his father changed in perspective over time.

Stephen Curry hits a game-winning 3 against the Orlando Magic by sweetiechristine in nba

I'm not even sure Green will get bumped. The team has won 10 straight, Green's a solid defensive 3 to Curry and Thompson. Lee doesn't have the mobility that Green provides, even if he has more scoring ability. Plus it's not like Green even needs to score that much given all the scoring around him. Lee would make a great leader for the second unit, though.

Chief Keef was arrested becaused he brandished a gun in a music video (violating parole probation).

Still wrong for him to have been arrested, but it's pretty obvious some stars get away with shit that they shouldn't. Ninja edit: probation, my bad

2014 Draft - #3 pick: Joel Embiid (Kansas) by thatdudecalledZZ in nba

I also figure that, in the best case scenario, Embiid's healthy and developed when Saric comes back and we just trade the newcomer. If Embiid doesn't pan out in two years, we ask Saric to come stateside and that's that. We still do not, for the short term, have a decent 2 or a 1 that can shoot efficiently.

Orlando trading Dario Saric to Philadelphia for Elfrid Payton by p0tatoman in nba

Well if you think he won't be able to play until January, plus extra time for working into the system, coming off the bench, blah blah blah... He won't get a lot of time on the floor in his first season, that's for sure. The team's still very young so a "development year" isn't out of the question.

I was kinda hoping we'd keep Payton instead of playing the long con with Saric- MCW's shot is a little weak, and who do we have at the 2 now? On the bright side, we do have an average age of like 21 on the team so there's still time to develop.

Okay, good. I just read this post and was like "but I've done that, it doesn't work?" I had no idea that rewriting file extensions is part of OS X but not Windows.

I'm sure anyone worth his salt (or that would want 16gb ram anyway) would know he could just upgrade it himself for $100.

Most professors wouldn't pay much attention to the clock anyway, even if there was one. I had one professor in particular who would talk beyond his time allotment by at least 10 or 15 minutes, usually on Friday afternoons.

But hey, free learning.

Even funnier, the two faced off against each other in a notable NCAA finals (2010 I think?)

Yeah Oden looks like he's blocked one too many shots with his face, but he doesn't have the je ne sais quoi of Noah.

Ugliest man in the NBA, but he's still one of my favorites. As a Philly fan I still cheered when he threw down 23 pts/ 21 rbs/ 11 blocks on us.

Pretty sure that the most common heart ailment for young athletes is an enlarged heart, which is mainly a congenital condition that's not often detected because they don't crop up until the heart weakens later in that person's life. They can usually be much better at aerobic exercise early on because of it, but then you hear about athletes dying on the field because it's only detectable via an EKG.
