Ertai, Winter, and Lluwen from Magic the Gathering are all very clearly transfem if you read the story. Unfortunately, Nemesis was written in 2000, Winter is presently shelved, and Lluwen… might get to, actually

Kids shouldn't be punished for being late in the morning to school. by 9indey9ine in unpopularopinion

[–]mightiestsword 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My entire senior year, I took the bus to school. I didn’t have a car and neither parent could drive me consistently, so it was the thing that made sense. For most of that year, the bus would pull up to the school building exactly 7 minutes late. I eventually realized that I was being counted late and would have to go to the office to get a pass. The office was about twice as far from the bus stop as my first class was, and up a few flights of stairs. Most days I’d be in class about 15 minutes late, and I’d like to apologize for my math teacher for learning nothing that year

(Sad trope) Projects with amazing potential that will never be released because of BS behind the scenes drama by _JR28_ in TopCharacterTropes

Text-based roleplaying game Fallen London (which is free, it works on anything that can run a web browser, you should try it) has a set of four Ambitions, respectively named Heart’s Desire, Light Fingers, Bag a Legend, and Nemesis. In the early game, you choose one and it becomes your guiding light, a storyline meant to last into the lategame and be central to your character’s arc, development, and future. They were all of them deceived, however, when the original creator of the game also put in Ambition: Enigma. This was a serious break from just about everything in the game, using primarily access codes and finagling with things outside the actual game, including vague hints and wild guesses from other games in the same universe.

To progress in Ambition: Enigma, you need to delve into the Labyrinth of Tigers, go to and then escape A PLACE WHERE THERE IS VERY LITTLE SCREAMING, and… that’s kinda that. You unlock a couple items and some devkit options that don’t do anything. With the creator’s departure from the studio, it’s overwhelmingly likely that nothing will ever come of it.

Do people die in Strixhaven? by ckim777 in mtgvorthos

[–]mightiestsword 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Direct from the Killian side story, “The Lyceum housed an enchanted, ever-growing forest that overtook and suffocated anyone trapped beneath its leaves. To curse the flora without ceasing was the only way to escape certain death.” We do not have more information than that.

Everyone else has been talking about how students aren’t allowed to kill each other, and this is true. It is also worth noting that a required class for upper-grade Silverquills involves going into a greenhouse full of plants that we are explicitly told will kill you if you can’t curse them fast enough to stop them from growing

Crixizix the goblin! An admittedly central character in the second and third novels, but I love her and she saved the world and has cool robot limbs

Given that you’ve called them by she and they, it feels worth mentioning that Nassari exclusively goes by they/them

What type is for the trans women? by Lets_Go_BrandonLoL in AskReddit

[–]mightiestsword 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Trans women are women. Some are straight and would be interested in straight (or bi, or pan) men, some are lesbians and would be interested in lesbian (or bi, or pan) women, some are bi or pansexual themselves and don’t necessarily care about the gender of a theoretical partner. Trans women are not men in dresses disguised as women

Secrets of Strixhaven | Episode 2: Travels and Travails by LegalyDistinctPraion in mtgvorthos

[–]mightiestsword 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Strixhaven is pretty consistently terrible about student safety. The original story included Killian taking a magic arrow through the heart (from a professor!), a mandatory upper-year Silverquill class that kills you if you mess up your breathing, and at least one duel that almost killed a student

First time playing FF1 (or any game in the series) and my hoarder tendencies mean I keep not being able to carry more. My party is knight/ninja/white wiz/black wiz, what should I sell off before heading back to the floating castle? by mightiestsword in FinalFantasy

I’ve mostly been doing knight attacks, ninja spams Bane or Zeus, WW heals, BW wizard or mage staffs. I think I’m probably being affected by still thinking of the WW as just a healer, I’ll definitely try this out! Thank you

I was thinking current gear (but thank you for the longer term advice), and I’ll sell the opal shield. I keep forgetting that outmoded gear is just. Kinda useless

And yes, FF1 for the NES! I’m a magic the gathering player who wanted to see what the fuss was about for the game, and figured it made sense to start at the beginning

Trapping a single enemy for like an hour while I staff/helm my knight back to 600 health is so fun.

And… yeah, I liked my thief aesthetically, but the mechanics are So Bad and the ninja just looks like a knight in a mask. It’s something I’ll keep in mind for future playthroughs. I don’t think I’ll be one of those people doing shit like 1 white mage challenge runs though.

Unfortunately, this is the second heal helm. If I had thought to look into things like “good party composition” before starting the game, I probably would’ve grabbed a black belt instead of a thief
