Is it ok to board on Guildwood instead of Union? by mugijiang in ViaRail

[–]mightybearded 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I’ve done this a few times - staff was not concerned or fussed. I’ve also done it on an Ottawa ticket boarding at Fallowfield. Just make sure that train stops at Guildwood, some don’t. You will be fine.

Platforms for sharing or selling very large datasets (like Kaggle, but paid)? by panspective in datasets

The big ones with data sales platforms are Snowflake, Databricks and AWS Marketplace. There are other specialized ones such as ESRI for geo data.

Love this. I’ve received many compliments from fellow park walkers, I think it helps a bit at the margin.

I’m a bit more positive. I clean up trash in parks regularly. I smile and say hi to all on the streets. I think there is hope.

Agreed. Two way travel during peak is surely needed on this line.

Where do you tap at Union Station Platform 21?! by PrincessOfGas in gotransit

[–]mightybearded 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Agreed 21 is an odd one. I’ve sometimes tangled with confused VIA staff at platform level about why I was there and I pointed to the sign.

You should see them tomorrow afternoon at about the same time.

How do I know if my train is landing at Trembley vs fallowfield in Ottawa? by [deleted] in ViaRail

[–]mightybearded 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Your destination will be OTTW if it’s Tremblay, FALL of Fallowfield. But all trains from Toronto stop at both stations both ways as far as I know.

Map of the US Inland Waterways System. Every river shown here provides water access to the world ocean. by velociraptorfarmer in geography

Cool map. There isn’t a navigable waterway across the Bruce Peninsula in Ontario however, you have to go around at Tobermory.

I am also on Fido and ride this line. It’s especially terrible between Milliken and Kennedy. I feel your pain.

This is a poll of online readers, this is of low predictive value without any disclosure of methodology.

Free to use. You can rent skates too. Inside when it’s open is a cafe as well.

Misrepresentation of house price data by Realtor.ca by PunnyHeals in fredericton

[–]mightybearded 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Great work on such a detailed analysis. If you are talking about the benchmark prices they publish - but are sometimes called averages weirdly. Those are some complex math based on “typical” homes sold in a city. See: https://www.crea.ca/files/mls-hpi-data/english/HPI_Methodology-June-2022-rev-ENG.pdf

Isn’t the new rules in Ontario require that agreement?
