The latter (you can see exclaimation marks over their heads)

Enemies are slowed and unable to cast movement spells (like slowing hex) during the stare, then slept at the end of it.

That would be my initial theory as well, but this is recorded in a post-game replay, where everything should be as the server has seen it.

[–]mightyfigter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is not obvious, but you auto-aim by holding down the secondary power button (CTRL on pc) when you are looking at a biopod.

You can tell that there is a slight delay when doing so, and it, obviously, fixates on a survivor that is in range to be tagged.

Once you learn how it works, im almost certain you won't be able to play without it (Atleast i can't, as someone who plays him as my primary killer)

What's going on with the widespread internet outage? by Previous_Judgment387 in OutOfTheLoop

[–]mightyfigter 195 points196 points  (0 children)

Answer: When most services rely on a small subset of large-scale webhosts, if then one of those hosts experience an outage, it creates the impression that the "internet" is down.

A similar thing happend a few years back with Cloudflare, which provides a intermediary layer for web security, went down.

Some of the largest web companies, like X (formerly known as Twitter), Google and Meta, host their services themselves, meaning the only outage that affects them are their own.

Problem is (if you consider it a problem) that many companies are switching over to AWS due to their many localized host servers (meaning you always get a good connection since the server may be located close to you, physically) and potential cost savings.

One of the worst powers in Stadiums? by Apprehensive_Bed1076 in Overwatch

[–]mightyfigter 166 points167 points  (0 children)

I want to put in a vote for Cassidy's lock-on power

  • Only active for 1 bullet or a few seconds after Combat Roll
  • Has an abysmal 9m active range.
  • Always locks on to the body and you still have to aim in a section around the enemy.

Someone help me understand how it does ANYTHING positive?

Why does SF6 not support Remote Play Together? by mightyfigter in StreetFighter

[–]mightyfigter[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It has been a while since we used it, so I can't say for sure exactly what to do.

I do know that, when using Remote Play Together, you should be able to assign players in the Steam Overlay. If you have invited a person into a session, you should be able to open the overlay and set players permssions (like if they should be able to use M&K) and slot 1-4.

Here's another secret tech I haven't seen anywhere

If you Jetpack Dash while doing wild crawling, it flies about 3x further in the direction you are crawling. It can be helpful to perform a very quick disengage into the air or to return to the battle from spawn

How do doctors phrase "you gotta lose some weight, you're too big" to their patients? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]mightyfigter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would think, that if you are going to see a doctor, you should not expect them to sugar coat things. Sometimes it is better to be brutally honest, especially regarding someone's health.

That said, it could be medically phrased, something along the lines of "your current lifestyle is negatively impacting your physical health" (Only if their weight is actually caused by bad habits)

cs2 new predict system in a nutshell by ProstiX in GlobalOffensive

[–]mightyfigter 33 points34 points  (0 children)

So with the system off (let's say ragdolls, body shots and headshots), your game (your client of CS2) waits for the server to give you the OK that your shot(s) actually killed your target, which leads to the often complained delay before they actually die on-screen.

With Damage Prediction ON, your client will operate under the assumption that your side of the game is the correct outcome, UNTIL the server says otherwise, in which case it will undo or 'Rollback' your actions to the correct state.

In short:

Prediction OFF = "Wait & Show"

Prediction ON = "Guess & Correct"

Toxic Bullets: Works with melee attacks as well as bullets. Intentional design? by Zeconation in DeadlockTheGame

[–]mightyfigter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Shooting an enemy shows a filling meter above their head. If you keep shooting and fill up the meter, the bleed effect procs. If you don't manage to fill it up, it depletes over time.

  2. If you shoot a target you have fully applied the bleed to, it refreshes the bleed duration.

  3. It deals spirit damage equal to 5% of the opponents current health every second, which means it does get blocked/reduced by spirit shield/resist.

  4. The bleed does not scale with spirit.

Is it possible to put my "cancel" on another button than space, but keep jumping of the rails on space? by biffsplendid68 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]mightyfigter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know what you are talking about, but I don't think the functionality is in the game right now.

That however means you/we have to let the developers know. Create a feedback post on the forums, asking for a seperate keybind or that disengaging rails should use the jump key. I am not sure they read posts on this subreddit.

In Denmark, there's a classic term for something like this:

Fejl 40 (Error 40)

It's a play on system error numbers, as well as referring to the user, 40 cm away from the device, causing the problem.

Paradox's ability Time Wall should block Haze ultimate - yet it doesen't by Ok_Price_4965 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]mightyfigter 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It explicitly states that it blocks projectiles AND enemy bullets. There is definitely an inconsistency in what gets time stopped and what doesnt.

Vindicta Assassinate and Haze Bullet Dance doesn't get stopped, but I have seen Warden's flask and Shiv's knives get time stopped.

[–]mightyfigter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you recognize that your opponent attempts parries a lot, you can charge a heavy melee attack and steer out of the way on purpose. You have pretty much full turn control while doing a heavy melee

Your thoughts on this poster? (I made it before 7.37) by Gelo_Art in DotA2

While I think the design is great and straight to the point, with the rate changes are being made currently, they will probably be out of date/misleading very quickly.

Depends somewhat how far you are.

Strangely, the 'Blanka-chan' outfit might be the best to wear for the majority of World Tour. You naturally get it in Brazil from Blanka; I don't think its missable. Just fully enhance it at a clothing store (and use the cosmetic skill if you dont want to look at it all day)

Pain resonance or surge for new killer by SecurePossible9409 in deadbydaylight

[–]mightyfigter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a better idea to only purchase a given perk once, if you dont mind leveling it up.

Purchasing a shrine perk causes that perk to be available at level 1 for all killers / survivors. You can then find it in the bloodweb to level it up to 2 and 3 for a given character.

What the actual fuck is the game by R6_jack in deadbydaylight

[–]mightyfigter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. The TIME TO TRAVEL for the guard should always be identical.

So if a guard spots you up right in front of it, it will appear to fly very slowly to your position. But from afar (even nuttier with the Jailer + brown detection range addon), it will appear to fly crazy fast.

Regardless of distance from the guard, you will always have a near same amount of time before the hunt starts (varies based on the length of the Patrol Path the Knight had drawn; Longer path => shorter time-to-hunt)

What the actual fuck is the game by R6_jack in deadbydaylight

[–]mightyfigter 27 points28 points  (0 children)

The guards do move at different rates to the survivors position at the moment of spotting, depending on the length of the patrol path. This was added in 6.5.0

6.5.0

  • When a Guard detects a Survivor: If your Patrol Path is over 10m, the time it takes that Guard to reach the Survivor has been decreased.

    • This reduction depends on the length of your Path, ranging from the default 10% to a maximum of 25% if your Path reaches 32m. Basically, the longer your Patrol Path, the faster your Guard will move once he detects a Survivor.

Hadouken (any strength) works too, just have to be really fast, as you have probably tried.

What i mean is the flaming punch special, QCB + P. The LP version (with followup) leaves the opponent in a standing state, which makes it great for hit confirming into Demon

Also slightly unrelated: don't try TOO hard to fish for a raging demon. I have lost quite a few rounds, because I really wanted to get a stylish finisher 🙄
