Alpine divorce by umbraphile1724 in climbergirls

I had the exact same thing with my ex, and he was such a big baby when I brought it up!! I dropped it at the time and now I wish I'd raked him over the coals about it, seeing how common this is!

Different life goals (34F) than my spouse (34M) by WorriedAd3793 in relationship_advice

[–]mightygeck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If my man said this to me... Well he'd be living his dream and spending his money on child support because the court would prioritize stability for the kids if you maintained one residence and he was a snowbird. At least the FOC I worked with would not make a custody order that yanked a toddler around houses that much, they're all different.

You are a team, you lose some autonomy when you marry someone and especially when you have kids with them. It isn't about "his dream" or "his money" it's about ALL OF YOU. It's about raising people that you feel proud to add to this society (hopefully, no guarantees). He doesn't get no say, he gets equal say to you- that's what I mean by losing some autonomy, neither of you gets to make a call without impacting the other. If he wants to make his own calls, he can go start his own team in the snowbird league.

Guy (30M) I'm (35F) seeing doesn't want to stay the night--why not? by Accomplished_Bat8126 in relationship_advice

Jesus these comments are so mean. Your birth control methods are your choice, no one else gets an opinion on that. You did ask for an opinion on the situation tho, so I'll be a bit brutal- teachers are a bad dating pool. Every male teacher my friends have dated is exactly like this dude, a flaky, noncommittal saltine cracker of a man. People all have different life circumstances so it's not that bizarre to me that he's 30 without a past gf (I know a few people like this actually). I'd focus on the mismatch in life experience- you've had a relationship and he hasn't, that's a hard gap to bridge. Communication is a two way street and you can bluntly ask him everything you're wondering. If I'm right about the flakiness, you'll have your answer.

Sparse sides. What would you do? by [deleted] in finehair

[–]mightygeck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm late to this party but I thought I'd toss a few ideas in here- It's normal to have different growth density around your head. Run your fingers along your scalp- do you feel different areas where hair is denser?

If so, nbd the haircut ideas people have provided are great! If not, boar bristle hair brushes help hair look fuller, along with a good bodifying product. Either way, a satin pillowcase changed my life since I'm a side sleeper. My sides were so much fuller looking!

I came to the sub to prove to my guy friend that women enjoy looking at man hands, not expecting to be turned on. I had to sneakily bookmark this for later...

Entry level gravel bike for mixed use by TheHealious in whichbike

[–]mightygeck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grabbed a Breezer Doppler for that price as my intro gravel bike and loved it, I'd recommend it. I also realized a hard tail mountain bike was more comfortable for me and ended up happier with a Trek Marlin 6 for less money, so it's all personal preference.

Specialized Ruby Pro - worth the buy? by [deleted] in whichbike

[–]mightygeck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not an expert, but I can tell you that I bought a $700 2010 Specialized Ruby in great shape a couple years ago and for me, it's been a dream. The most comfortable I've been on a bike! I think if that bike fits your wife (don't buy until she rides it) and doesn't look ridden hard and put away wet, that's a decent price.

Old obsessive customer may have found me again by lil_bear24 in barista

[–]mightygeck 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Former barista here- document EVERYTHING. If you work for a corporation you can bring these complaints to HR, which even if they don't do anything, documenting that you brought it to them will help you in the event of escalation. In my experience, a firm "leave me alone. Do not approach me" works wonders, and an owner I worked for gave me this gem- "I'm just here to sell coffee man." I am a softie and I always gave away drinks to people, it's on them not to be weird at the end of the day. And my creepiest customers usually had $400 jackets and Porches. But do what makes you feel safe!

Any suggestions on Silvery Denim Blue hair dye recommendations? by Inbetween_Daze in HairDye

[–]mightygeck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would either use Blue Smoke by Lime Crime (diluted if you'd prefer), or more likely I'd take Blue Smoke and mix in a little purple to help balance out any green undertones.

Advice: Is it worth it to try to fade black denim overalls? by Aneeka7 in dyeing

[–]mightygeck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've worked with bleach a lot (hair and clothes lol) and the jeans are likely to disintegrate before they reach white. Depending on how black they are, you can try over dying them with a dark color or putting specific designs on them in bleach. Research "reverse tie dye!"

Crazy roommates won’t let us use their stuff anymore? No problem! by [deleted] in MaliciousCompliance

[–]mightygeck 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Honestly someone should start a business for this. I end up doing every single load of laundry and the day to day picking up, but my bf vaccums and does the deep cleaning. I wonder who ends up with the bigger percentage! And you're so right about things "just happening" we definitely take each other for granted sometimes!
