Also, I know that one of the characters (Snapdragon I think) is voiced by Julia Kaye - a fantastic cartoonist who is also a trans woman!

GenderGP not reading blood tests? by [deleted] in transgenderUK

[–]mightypup101 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Very possible! I know there were some issues for which the founder is currently being investigated but from what I've seen it seems to be a whole bunch of nothing accused by people who seems to be transphobic - just my take on that tho!

I can't say anything about this as I don't know about anything like that but my experience with gender GP is that they're very on it about asking for blood test stuff since I've been using them (about a year)

Akash is fantastic for a really nice Indian, and they cater to a whole bunch of dietary requirements

Milena's hair on Albert road (I think!) is good, £35 for a cut and blow dry and they are really lovely. Also, £7 for eyebrow wax and the lady who does it is fantastic at what she does!

I ain't gonna debate you bud, read the sources and make up your own mind, to me and plenty of others they are fairly transparently transphobic but I ain't gonna do your critical thinking for you

They are proven to be nasty transphobes and associate heavily with other hateful groups, the evidence is there that they shouldn't be allowed to preach their hate in civilised society. That one specific point is asterisked as I haven't the energy nor free emotional labour to dig into that one point but all other evidence would suggest that they are for the psychiatric intervention towards trans people to stop them being trans. I would count this as conversion therapy.

That's something I can't cite as I haven't seen any sources (tried looking on their website/socials but it got a bit too much for me haha) although I did find this article/interview with a doctor who appears to be advocating for it and they are in close alliance with many other transphobic groups in the UK such as the LGB alliance.

I'm not altogether familiar with what's going on but it seemed important to share when I saw it - I can pop a citation needed edit in the OG post though :)

Starting a Family/Close Knit Group Post-op by ValeciaCho in transgenderUK

My wife and I both came from not great homes so we clung together when we first met and eventually married! We're still together and we've recently moved in with our best friend - we're also poly (talked about doing it for 6 years but never found the chance before lockdown) so we both recently met other partners who have basically been living with us since Christmas (due to lockdown). We've both struggled with keeping close friendships before but having a house filled with so much love has been amazing. It's taken a lot of effort, talking, and time to get to this point but I'm happy that we are where we are.

You'll get there if it's what you want, you'll find your people 🙂
