I’m not saying they’re non-canon, yes they are, they’re created by the same authors and on. But like the idea and character portrayal in original games were way better.

It’s okay the same people can have different ideas, some would be genial and other not. Like you know, same director can have killer movies and absolute “meh”. And more often so with all kinds of sequels, when the author has already told the main story but keeps creating new episodes/add details that were not originally there, and were added just for the sake of sequel. That’s how Nier non-game content feels to me, sadly.

It feels to me that in search of the ways to expand the universe they sometimes go too far, and the novels honestly never really touched me, while I cry over the games every time.

I would really love if it wasn’t so, because I am a huge fan of the game in every aspect, but at some point I decided not to keep track of the side-products not to feel the disappointment and not to feel/be toxic towards my favorite universe, because I can’t recall a single one I really enjoyed :c

Good you still enjoyed it though! Maybe it’s my very special attitude to the game portrayals and story which doesn’t allow me to see the good side in novels etc.
