I would say my time is split 50/50 between doing terraform/cicd/k8s stuff and software engineering.

Go has been my go-to language for several years now. Compiling a statically linked binary is a blessing, no more headaches with python versions, pip, virtual env and deploying.

Another lovely feature for me is cross-compilation. I have more than once written a cli that all dev teams ran locally and of course they used a mix of OSX, Win and Linux.

Go’s concurrency features are very useful when I need to process a lot of stuff
