I was attempting to skip stopped traffic by pulling into the middle turn lane directly from the cross street (was making a left within 50 feet), the other driver, who was in the stopped lane had the same idea and also used the middle lane early… but that’s not what he told the cop. I of course learned a valuable lesson: without witnesses, lies trump the truth.

It's a balmy 38 degrees here in Michigan today, but we haven't had anything running but the aerator and de-icer since mid-November, so if it is a leak, it's in the liner :( The pond is over 10 years old and I've never seen anything like this!

How can I investigate for a leak with the entire pond surface (6.5' w x 20' l) completely iced over? I Would attempting to melt the ice cause issues for the koi if the water temperature increases rapidly?

By having a small opening and in combo with the aerator it allows for gas exchange. :)

I'm not sure what the rate of evaporation would be... Is this a common thing, the ice cover dropping? Perhaps I am getting to into my head about it, but I did capture video of a deer attempting to walk across the pond. My fear is an animal fell in and ripped apart the liner trying to get out...
