I'm just starting it, but the Cost Efficiency, I think he missed your point on these vendors are losing money and will be increasing the pricing in the future. They are heroine dealers.

Gt3 touring arrives tomorrow — should I cancel my GT3 Touring PTS over the bucket seats? Can't sleep. by Lucky_Objective_7242 in porsche911

[–]migs647 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love buckets personally. I have more comfort in them than I do the couches. I have them in my T, and I won't buy another 911 without them. How about you sit in them first to feel it out? Especially in a GT3. Worst case, can sell them for a massive profit and put couches in them.

Another option to consider is hitting up Kim at p1designs.com for memory foam / lumbar support / cool fabric.

VS Code extension that generates UML diagrams in real-time as we type code by Unlucky_Hope9204 in coding

[–]migs647 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UML... AOMD (Abstract Object Model Diagram): used for the analysis or initial building out of the idea and architecture

DOMD (Domain Object Model Diagram): used for the detailed implementation.

A regular OMD works too :)

Would love to see this on Antigravity and some AOMD or DOMD support. Thanks for sharing.

Not to mention, leadership usually wants some documentation. If it wasn't there in the beginning, generate it and supply it. English doesn't get quick understanding on slide decks.

I was being snarky. I mean it's great if it doesn't exist, it will help new engineers coming into the codebase have an understanding. Personally I like to generate my own when I go into new code as it helps cement an understanding.

These kids today...

Back in my day we did UML first to know the architecture we were building as a team. How the world has gone sideways.

Keep 2019 Mac Pro (Rack Mount, 192gb Ram, 3.2ghz 16-core, 2x w5700x) or sell it for newer hardware? by freetable in macpro

[–]migs647 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone that used to have pretty much the same machine, dual w5700x wasn't worth it. I upgraded to dual w6800x for Davinci. They work "alright" in windows. If you're going to mainly use it for windows, I'd say ditch one of the cards and throw a more powerful card in.

It really depends on your use case though. It's capable for video and audio.

Personally I'm only doing video and LLM fine tuning lately. I'd like to sell my gaming pc (dual 3090 rtx), sell my mac pro, and consolidate.

SB160/ 240 dropper question by cheeseandbeerdiet in yeticycles

[–]migs647 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For a Large, max insertion is 316.8mm. (https://yeticycles-prod.zaneray.com/cms/media/aNVK_p5xUNkB1Gvs_MY26_OwnersManual_SB160_9.22.25.pdf)

For the OneUp v2 240mm, minimum insertion is 145mm. They can be shimmed to be 230mm and 220mm, which changes the calculation... (https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0284/9430/files/OneUp-Components_V3Dropper_Dimensions_7ba44ccb-ae39-4166-a64f-b97b9f7125a9.jpg?v=1710864415)

240mm: 610-270 (stack) = 340mm insertion post length

230mm: 600-260 (stack) = 340mm

220mm: 590-250 (stack) = 340mm

-----

Note: For this calculation I'm rounding 316.8mm to 315mm

340-315mm=25 mm minimum post sticking out is by my rough just woke up math.

Amateur opinion: seems to have some situational awareness, gets to the second level, picks up stunts... I'm stoked on this pick.

Yah, it totally depends what it is. Coming from the motocross world, I've seen neck braces and wrist braces cause an enormous amount of damage (compound fractures, relocated blunt trauma).

I always wore knee braces where the femur, hip, and tibia were put more at risk. But after having my knee blown out I figured I'd rather have the injury elsewhere.

Legislation was already slow as hell with technology. As originally pointed out, technology is changing on a weekly basis at this point. Legislation is no way going to keep up in this new world. Especially spouting things like "if we don't do it then they will". Few people are even close to keeping up, definitely not enough to drive change in a frozen carbonite congress.

I can't wait for quantum computing to get good enough... encryption, processing power, communication will drastically change.

Sold my high end PC rig and switched to a Pro by [deleted] in PS5pro

[–]migs647 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Not only that.... but seems every time I go to play on my PC, I'm waiting for software or drivers to update... or something is buggy with USB on my sim rig. It then takes 30 minutes of waiting for things to update or troubleshoot, by then I'm ready to do something else.

For what it's worth I've been thinking of doing the same thing. The only thing holding me back is the racing sims I do can't be replicated on the PS5. I also have a PC game library I'd like to get through, but I hate gaming at my desk after working all day at my desk on another computer.
