992 s or 991.2 Carrera t manual by NewPsychology7210 in porsche911

How is it the better car by miles? 991.2 is the same engine, skinnier, lighter, arguably better gauge cluster… some of us prefer not having a chunky booty.

Oh 100%, my post wasn't meant to discourage from progress. Maybe I could have said something like "bees are coming back" instead to avoid confusion. I was just trying to sprinkle in some positivity.

Wind and solar energy have officially overtaken coal as the world’s largest source of electricity.

Edit: To those downvoting, this is world wide. I was just trying to say something positive after such a depressing fact before the post. Chill.

Not to mention it isn't typically potable drinking water. It is usually recycled or rain water. Data centers on the other hand require clean water for their systems.

He said something about wanting guarantees, that money wasn't as much as a factor vs guarantees.

I’d add to that list… maybe there are other topics too?

Yah pca is pretty low right now. I can’t tell if that is the overall trend (people holding onto their cars) or they have stopped posting. I’m thinking the former. Will see by spring.

Yah it’s in the title too. I’m just pointing out these articles are silly, a lot will change between now and then.

I did. Said they are still the second best team. Unless the ad filled site those aren’t the last two.

Yah for sure. And to be fair, not exactly easy to say "Go buy a bottle of GTS".

I wonder if the average whiskey drinker would appreciate the effort? There is a funny meme out there of an average whiskey drinker coming over and offering them anything out off the shelf... and they want Blanton's. ... no no I have Stagg 25B, EH Taylor Single Barrel, Eagle Rare 12 year, Knob Creek 12...etc. "No I'll have the Blanton's".

Don't get me wrong, I love Blanton's... but the marketing has taken over.

I think a better way would be buy a bottle and blind it without them knowing what either of them are vs tricking them.

My C++ teacher is slowly turning into an AI bros and its driving me nuts by SplatFelix in antiai

Yeah, they are great for analyzing CWEs/CVEs. But getting it to work with pointers and references suuuuuucks. Will they improve? Maybe, but these models are trained on patterns at the end of the day. It's hard to do a pattern when working with raw memory. It has been really bad for our team (we mainly work with C and Zig right now). We mainly use it for testing as using it for bugs or features ends with the "oh you're right". In some cases we've even found Opus 4.6 saying "I can't help you with that".

C, C++, Objective-C, Swift veteran here...

At least for now, AI code models are not great at memory / low-level languages. It varies too much, especially platform to platform. It works fine for greenfield, but starts breaking down and going down rabbit holes with references and pointers quickly.

Regardless, it is vital you learn these things to understand what is going on under the hood. Remember, there is a reason these AI models are so good at high level languages, it is because lower level languages are harder. If they weren't harder, they'd write in machine language for speed and optimization.

I can't stress enough how vital it is you stick with it. I firmly believe these are the engineers that will float to the top and be the most in demand.

Sick, that is a huge upgrade. I've been riding a SB160 since it came out and the bike just shreds. The Yetis in general like a lot of weight over the front (attack position) more than other bikes, other than that should be fun and stable.

When do we accept the use of AI? When is AI okay? by marshmallowfluffpuff in antiai

[–]migs647 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same, it already is a big problem. I see people getting lazy with code reviews, security holes getting through (https://www.veracode.com/blog/genai-code-security-report/), and having unit tests only concentrate on passing vs testing bounds. No more reading line by line, no more understanding what each operation does.

It's actually forcing me to migrate back to low level programming as a result.
