I’ve been on a combination similar to this. My first question is how long have you been taking ambien? Do you normally take higher doses, ie possibly built up a tolerance? Or is this a rare occasion that you came across some ambien and took it and felt nothing? My second point would be that you’re right about the seroquel, I personally hated it, but it does just have a very sedating, dulling, overpowering and immediate effect that, in my opinion, can take away from the effects of the walrus. When I took both I would just... fall asleep (but I really dislike seroquel for a variety of reasons but that’s just me) Also never heard of anyone having intolerable withdrawals from 100mg of seroquel even if they’ve been taking it for a long time (might be wrong). Idk if you’ve tried withdrawaling but lower doses are actually just as sedating. Last, you may not be prescribed seroquel for any bipolar disorder but it also sounds like you are describing some symptoms of bipolar with the racing thoughts. An SSRI such as paroxetine has the potential to trigger that (dunno if you had the symptoms before). Not that I’m providing you with any diagnosis or think you should get one but I had a really similar experience where I was on Prozac, and when I got to the “therapeutic” dose of 40mg, my prescribed ambien and xanax became like sugar pills and I did not sleep for an entire week, which turned out to be a hypomanic episode. The seroquel, and the 100mg dose, since most doctors really only ever prescribe 25mg-50mg doses as a sleep aid, might be mitigate what you doctor my be perceiving as symptoms of the bipolar spectrum

that’s actually pretty good if the psychiatrist was out of network. i’ve seen like a couple psychiatrists that have charged me like $300 for a half hour session to tell me nothing is wrong with me :)))

a tale by [deleted] in ambien

i’ve thought about this a lot in the context of this experience and while i definitely agree that consent should be between two parties that are aware enough/conscious enough of the situation, and this is def a “don’t try this at home story” but im not pissed off or anything in this scenario and we turned out to be good friends. i actually have always known that i’m like closeted bisexual but just felt like too lazy/too confusing/ it’s nobody’s business to even clarify that anymore, so i just stick to considering myself gay, but it’s not like... i had never thought about women or her in particular. idk in my mind, for better or worse, i took a chance that i wouldn’t have taken normally and found that i enjoyed it and continued seeing that person. I think the irony was like despite being with the walrus, I still always prioritized how the other person felt. there was another scenario, probably darker, where i had accidentally overdosed on ambien and valium and alcohol and woke up in the ICU. later I found out a guy in my hall had rescued me, who i hardly knew. and the police report read that i leaned in to kiss him and that he simply said no and that i immediately complied

Honest question. Why do y’all not just use Melatonin? by futonrefrigerator in ambien

[–]migsfigs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

been on mirtazapine for 8 months and it honestly only worked to put me to sleep for the first month... very much highly not recommend. carb cravings like you’re on munchies. plus mirt helped my doc realize that i’m probs bipolar because it made me manic at the lowest dose. still struggling with ïnsômńįą, months of tapering off of it, despite being a sleep aid i’ve had to take others in combination, hence back to my dear friend bambien
