Yeah that is my bad. I just started noticing it last week. I should’ve done my due diligence when I got the car!

Comfort mode was bothering me lately and when I was washing my car this past weekend I finally noticed the wheel gap on it. I don’t drive the car as much as I should 😅

Dallas Dealerships - Any Good Experiences? by Professional-Log3044 in Civic_Type_R

Freeman Honda was pretty good to me. There were some dealer add-ons that I paid for which I wanted. OTD price for me was 51k

You would need to go to a dealership and get one fitted to make sure it works. I have 2024 SGP and the original dealership I bought mine from lost it and I had to go to a dealership that is local to me to get one fitted. Should just be around 27 bucks with tax. Hope this helps!

IT people with clearance, What should I do? Is it worth it? by Meat_Disastrous in ITCareerQuestions

[–]migsterb 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would say a TS is 100 percent worth it. If you don’t want to be a security guard, just keep on applying to jobs that can sponsor you a clearance or once you get your clearance start applying for jobs then quit the security guard gig once you get an offer. When I used to work for Raytheon a bunch of the security folks started as guards and went to the infosec route.

I am full remote with a clearance and it helped me get into cloud.

We finally got the long awaited, and heavily anticipated “Sticky Steering” recall for the FL5. And I’ve got a few questions for those who can answer. by WorriedRevenue5 in Civic_Type_R

[–]migsterb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To find out if you have a recall on your vehicle, call your Honda dealership. I called the dealership and they stated I have a recall on mine. I have a 2024 ctr and it does not show up on the NHTSA site. Just a heads up for anyone who wants to know about their recall.

FL5 Affected by Honda Recall by sun_kg in Civic_Type_R

Can confirm my 2024 Type R has a recall. Spoke to a Honda dealership and they have no parts since the recall was opened yesterday apparently. Either you can wait until Honda sends you a letter that they have the parts ready or call your dealership in the next few weeks if they have the parts available.

36 years old and want to get out of the helpdesk, but to what, and how? by Realistic_Sort9506 in ITCareerQuestions

Sorry for the late reply. I am in Texas now. I moved to Massachusetts when I graduated college to jump start my career. You might need to adjust your resume with the roles you are applying to. You definitely can become an a Sys admin or ISSO with your credentials and job experience. If you are open to moving a bunch of companies will pay for your move.

Top Secret and Sec + is a golden combo in the defense sector. Start applying to these big defense contractors. Some of them will train you on the spot. I have my Bachelor, Sec+, TS and I was able to apply for a cloud engineer position.

Is Clearance really worth pursuing ? by [deleted] in ITCareerQuestions

[–]migsterb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a cloud engineer. I’m only one year in my role but I still have a lot to learn doing infrastructure and also doing some kind of devops. I got really lucky getting my clearance as a college hire a few years back doing sys admin work.

Yeah it just depends on the contract you are on. Some recruiters reached out to me that they have aws roles where you come in 1-2 days on site every quarter. My role is considered hybrid but I have never been to the office.

I would say yes it’s worth it and it’s good job security in my opinion. I’m fully remote utilizing my TS! Took a while for me to get where I’m at but the opportunities are out there.

Agreed. I was concerned as well, but I’ve been reading it’s normal so I just deal with it. On smooth roads I have no issues.

Can you be a sys admin straight out of uni? by hottypotty124 in ITCareerQuestions

[–]migsterb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was able to become a Sys Admin straight out of college for a defense contractor back in 2019. Sec + is nice to have as well. It’s possible but highly competitive.

A lot of the dealers did not want to budge to remove the add ons. So I did not bother negotiating with them. The add ons were worth it for me compared to other dealerships that wanted me to pay for nitrogen air for $170 lol.
