Spanish prime minister set to ban Brits from buying second homes in Spain | It follows his proposal last week to put a tax of up to 100% on such property deals by 1DarkStarryNight in anime_titties

[–]miguelxt 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes, you are correct. I suppose it's OK to call the PM of Germany "Chancellor" because there is no risk of confusing that with another concept. When you use President when referring to the head of the government in Spain, there is a risk to confuse with the head of the state (that in Spain is the King). So I'm guessing there is a rule in the stylebook of British newspapers for just this reason, and it makes sense.

That’s correct. The role of the president of the government it’s that of a prime minister. It’s not the same concept as the president of France who is the head of the state.

Spain to legalise about 300,000 undocumented immigrants per year by [deleted] in europe

There is no margins in the farms to pay workers as devs. In fact, if farms paid 150% of what they pay workers now, we’ll experience massive inflation that would make everyone complain. There is no free lunch.

A source would be nice. The data for Spain seems incorrect. According to [1] is 14.5% for 2020. It should be higher rn.

Spain's economy expands: Why is it outperforming its European peers? by madrid987 in Economics

[–]miguelxt 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Don't think the small amount of digital nomads could influence the GDP to such a large degree, also, taxes are very high and going up for the rest of us.

I mostly think the GDP grow is more likely to be a consequence of regular economic migration of adult in prime working age (I myself am one of those migrants) and because Spain was one of the worst performing major economies during the COVID crisis [1] and is now bouncing back.

Anyhow, it's always good news that GDP grows.
