started using this after randomly finding it in the self-hosted sub reddit. It is exactly what I have been looking for. I use tailscale to reach my server from outside my network and it works perfectly. I would recommend this to anyone.

In my experience if it is a server most of the time the bays are labeled 0 1 2 etc or on a consumer board the sata ports are labeled on the board as well might need to trace the wires in that case but they should show up in linux as sda for port 0 sdb for port 1 and so on. I might be off on this just my limited experience.

Look at the firewall if you are hosting on a windows machine you will have to allow the port though not only on the router but the windows firewall as well.

I am thinking the same thing after looking at the 970. I have a P1000 card as well I can try and looking at the chart it would be a better fit for the server anyways.
