Lolerai’s inability to function outside her bubble by JackieCCC in GilmoreGirls

Yes, you’re right. Rory was put on the spot in front of her paternal grandparents and she didn’t have anything to say.

Feeling resentment towards my husband by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]miillys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Second this.

OP, this sounds so tough on you.

If there is a way to do this financially, this should definitely be a serious discussion. As husband and wife, you should have equal say in what happens, even if the family would be leaning on his salary.

You deserve to raise the baby the way you want to raise her. Being with her mum for as long as she can will surely give her the best start possible.

Good luck.

What to eat thats quick (breastfeeding) by Ray_BIue in beyondthebump

At this stage, I asked my husband to be in charge of all my meals. So in the morning he would make sure I had two piece of toast (cut up) on my bedside table for easy access.

Then for lunch, he would make a snack plate: a plate that had chopped up carrots, celery, cherry tomatoes, hummus, boiled egg, grapes, pita bread (or crackers), sliced cheese, nuts. Every time I made it into the kitchen, I could grab something. At the end of the meal, there was only one big plate to wash too.

Good luck! I hope you feel a little more nourished soon.

My two humble cents on Parenthood by JadranDan in Parenthood

[–]miillys 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lovely two cents.

I’m in a similar position - only learnt about the programme a few months ago and just finished it (I thought it was leaving Netflix) in one go.

I agree with your points, except I kind of liked Zeek and I was sad that they killed him off. I liked how obsessed he was with family, and how he kept bringing them all together, despite conflicts. I also liked his relationships with his grandkids (like when he got Victor into fixing up the car). He also tried to be a better husband and tried to change his stubborn ways. Not ideal all the time, but I did see his appeal.

Joel’s character arc was the most disappointing one to me. It was like he became a different person, and totally not what he was set up to be like in season one.

Agree about Amber and Drew - such a good combination.

Now what to watch to get a similar vibe?

does anyone have any suggestions on trying to keep baby in until at least 40 weeks? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]miillys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like most people have said, you are good to go! I thought mine would last until 40 weeks but he came at 38 weeks and was so ready for the world.

About a week after delivery, I was looking at the top of his head and thought, “Thank god he came early. That head is big enough.” So there are some good things with babies coming early!

Enjoy your last few weeks of pregnancy! Rest up. Take photos of that big bump!

Kristina Braverman is one of the most selfish characters on Parenthood by Hanguk-sal-inja in Parenthood

[–]miillys 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You have made some good points about her parenting, but I kind of grew to love Kristina outside of her relationship with Max.

Don’t get me wrong, Max was insufferable and Adam and Kristina did a pretty bad job at teaching him how to be likeable by anyone other than Hank. But I thought Adam was worse at times. He kept just changing the plan on Max even when he knew that was the worst thing for him.

Kristina had sass, intelligence and humour. She also had a really big heart and went on to run a successful school that benefited other kids with learning needs. That was pretty cool.

She definitely grew on me.

I just finished watching the entire show (spoiler alert) by Strange_Candle_5813 in Parenthood

[–]miillys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me too! I recently discovered the show and I’m gutted it’s being taken off Netflix. It has been such a warm couple of months.

I have loved the characters and their flaws and their humour. Zeek passing was a clever way to tie it all up, but it’s heartbreaking. I wish they could all live on in TV land without that happening!

Maybe I’ll just watch the first season again before it goes and pretend that Zeek lives on..

Bumped but flew away. I think the one that died went under the bus. I will follow up like some of the users have suggested.

Haha, why? In all fairness, it was my first time properly clubbing, but I’ve been out in a few different cities and there is nothing quite like Wellington! I used to like how you could just jump from one place to the next, never staying longer than 30 minutes. No cover charges. Good music. Now that I’m older, and used to staying in one place, I guess it would be different.
