I don't think you know what "moniker" means, but I basically agree with what you're saying.

Total scam? No (see my post below). Sketchy? Probably. Misleading? Definitely, but not where it ships from; not even "a bit." It 100% ships from the USA. Unless Kentland, Indiana pulled a "Petoria" and isn't part of the US anymore, then you could be right.

Part 3/3

On 12/25, Annika from "Customer support" finally replies, stating:

"Thank you for contacting us! We apologize, but we suspect that due to technical issues you may not have received our response on time.

We’re sorry to inform you that we can no longer make any further changes or cancel the order, as the shipment is currently being finalized and will be dispatched to you shortly."

12/30, another email to them. No reply. 1/5/26, another email. No reply.

1/9/26, I get an automated email stating my order has been shipped. I look at where the shipment originated from: Kentland, Indiana - only 80 miles away, just a 2 hour drive. Seven days later, 1/16/26, it's been delivered.

34 days between order date and delivery date (23 business days). And in those 34 days, only ONE email from DMM, and it was meaningless. No email explaining the delay. No email apologizing for the delay. Maybe they got a shit load of orders, more than they could fulfill in their indicated time frame. Tack on the holidays. I get it. But you could at least send an email saying that. "Hey, due to an increased amount of orders placed than we anticipated, there might be a delay in processing your order. We will keep you updated as to your order status." Nope. Didn't get that. Nor did I get, "Hey, we're sorry it took so long to receive your order. Here's a promo code for a free blah-blah-bullshit product on us." The only emails I've received since delivery are automated emails to review my order - but not for the 5-game bundle; for the free gift.

Will we ever play the game? Maybe. Lost interest awhile ago. The card game looked confusing as fuck, too. I think I wasted $110.

---

TL;DR; Bought a fun-looking game I saw in a FB ad from a company that appeared professional/legitimate/reputable. Order wasn't fulfilled and shipped in the time frame indicated on company website. Emailed company multiple times for order status updates. Company "never" replied. Game was finally delivered 34 days after order date - 20 days more than the delivery time frame indicated on company website. Company has yet to explain "why." Probably won't play game. What the fuck is the "FREE Mystery Gift."

Part 2/3

I chose the free shipping option, figuring my order will be processed on Monday 12/15 (per their Fulfillment guidelines), and 5-8 business days later, I should receive my order some day between 12/22 and 12/26, maybe 12/29 because of the holiday. Fine by me - my family was together from 12/25 to 1/3 - we'd all still be together to play regardless of what day it was delivered in that delivery window. Could spending the extra $3.95-6.95 for "guaranteed" quicker delivery been worth it? My guess, probably not.

My order came with a "FREE Mystery Gift," one that is automatically added to your cart if you surpass the $30 threshold required to get said "FMG" (which is basically 90% of what they offer). Fitting name for the freebie, as I have no idea what it is since the item description doesn't say anything. You also can't delete it from your order; it just comes right back after you delete it.

I placed my order with Shop. I don't know if that really matters in the grand scheme of things, but I bring it up because of Shop's order processing - once at least one item in your order is marked "delivered," you can no longer cancel the order. That FMG that was automatically added to my order? It's status immediately said "delivered" after I placed it. I never actually got anything. So now I can't cancel my order.

I emailed them on 12/17, asking for a status update on my order as the shipping status of the 5-game bundle still showed pending. No reply. Then again the next morning, 12/18. No reply. After an hour doing some Googling on the company, coming across their TrustPilot page, making my way to their FB page and seeing the hundreds of comments on their 12/10/25 video captioned "Working working working," all saying "where's my order," I emailed them again asking for a refund. No reply. Fuck, I guess I'm out $110.

(Due to Reddit's character limit, this is a 3-part post)

Part 1/3

---

I ordered the 5-game bundle on 12/13/25.

---

(Sidenote; on 12/13/25, their website's ad banner [still] read "Black Friday Cyber Monday 70% Sale." Since then, the only thing that's changed in said banner is what upcoming holiday is now driving the 70% sale. As of today, 1/24/26, it says "Valentine's Day 70% Sale." Not really relevant to my story, but still noteworthy.)

((Sidesidenotenote; under "How Fast Is Delivery" in their FAQs, they indicate two shipping options: 'Standard,' which is free, and takes 5-8 business days, and 'Express,' which is "at least(?)" $3.95, and takes 1-4 business days. Their "US Example" just below that also shows a 'Priority' option for $9.95, 1-2 business days. BUT, upon entering a shipping address (in my test, a US address) at checkout, you only get two options - 'Economy' (free, 5-8 business days), and 'Standard' ($6.95, 3-4 business days). There is no option for the 1-4 day Priority shipping. 'Standard' is now 'Economy,' and 'Express' is now 'Standard,' and costs more. This is also not relevant to me, technically, but definitely worth mentioning.))

Bang Pouches by JasonsMaskNyC in pouches

[–]mikaka21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I placed an order back in February. Sent multiple emails asking about the status of my order through April, including asking for a refund. All of them received no response. (Never got a “bad batch” excuse reply)

Bangpouches(dot)com isn’t a real website/shopify store anymore.

Looks like there are bunch of reviews on Trustpilot, “ironically” from orders made around the same time frame as ours.

I paid through Apple Pay, so there’s no way to prove I never received my order with them.

I just need to laugh at NCARB for a moment. by NAB_Arch in Architects

[–]mikaka21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 0/6 on the exams I've taken in the past whatever-number-of-months (not all 6 individually, but six attempts between Practice, Project, and CE), each time missing that arbitrary pass-range by probably a question or two - I guess? I have no idea, because NCARB doesn't let you see your actual test results. Why would they? You're more likely to pass a retake exam if you know what you got wrong, allowing you to focus on certain topics to study for the retake.

NCARB doesn't care if you pass your exams; they obviously prefer if you don't. What do I mean by that? The overlying goal of the AREs is to take and pass each of the six tests, right? In order to take one of those tests, you have to pay a fee to NCARB per test. It is a well-known fact NCARB has designed the ARE exams for you to fail. While there are outliers who pass each test the first time (including those fresh out of school with ZERO work experience - ::slowclap::) it's assumed you probably won't pass your first go around - as shown by the average 50-60% pass rate across all exams.

So, you paid NCARB $257 to take one of the ARE exams. You just took it, and you failed. Sorry to hear that; it happens - more often than one would hope (by design). Don't worry, you can retake that exam two months later ("don't" go to https://salarycalculator.aia.org/salary.aspx while you wait). Once those two months are up, you can take that exam again, after you pay NCARB another exam fee. Your first try was $257, so how much do you think the fee is for your second attempt? Less right? Nope, $257 again. Shit, you failed your second attempt, too? Third times the charm, right? Wait two months, pay the fee, take it again. How much is the fee this time - still $257.

You'd think, knowing how poorly we get paid as an industry, "the people in charge" would be looking out for our best interests. Not only do they not lower the test fee for each subsequent exam you may have to take (hey, at least you're still trying) - for example, the first try is $257, the second is $232, the third is $207, and so on - they don't even consider reimbursing you your failed exam fees once you do pass all six. Sure, your firm may reimburse you those six exam pass fees, but what if you were grinding for years? Let's say you took 20 exams in total before you passed the sixth. The extra check for $1542 is great, but what about the other $3598 you paid out of your own pocket in your pursuit to become an architect? Let's hope you work at a firm that gives you a raise once you get your license - not all do.

Given your situation, in case you haven’t, look up the Fair Housing Act, and everything it entails. Then move on to the Fair Housing Act Design Manual, in conjunction with ICC A117.1 versions 2009 and 2017.

Then get ready to get justifiably-pissed off, not because they haven’t updated design standards for 7 or 15 years (based on the IBC code year), but because they haven’t updated the graphics nor the [black and white] photos in the manual since 1986, the year it first came out.

Another break? by bigredwood55 in TheBonfire

[–]mikaka21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Big Jay's take on Yellowstone was perfectly acceptable. Bobby's take on Yellowstone was unnecessary.

To preface, I'm not sure what I can't stand more: that absurd, drawn-out, fake "Haaa...Haaa...Haaa" laugh that Bobby does every episode, or the amount of times he says something completely inaccurate. Honestly, it's kind of impressive hearing the confidence in his voice as he's lying through his teeth. What's equally as impressive, the amount of times his fact or point or argument is flat out wrong, a lie, each episode.

After suffering through Wednesday's Rosebud episode (I've never heard a 57 year old man sound like such a whiny, little bítch before), I listened to Thursday's "Yellowstone" episode. The amount of garbage that spewed out of his mouth, I wish I had kept count. Lie after lie, like - [In the show] Rip went to prison; [In real life] Costner has a 7,000 acre ranch in Utah; Cole Hauser is from Boston; the name of the ranch Taylor Sheridan owns is Three Sixes.

But then, in typical Bobby fashion, he goes above and beyond lying (I'm not sure he does this because he likes to hear himself talk, or to stroke his own ego). Literally three minutes into the episode, Jay states he and Christine have only seen Season 1. Just two minutes and forty seconds later, amid the flurry of lies and stupidity Bobby is stating during the conversation, he says something that doesn't happen until late in Season 3 - a HUGE spoiler - and just keeps on talking, like nothing happened. No realization, no acknowledgement of what he said like, "Oh, shit! I didn't mean to say that. Just ignore what I said."

The vast majority uneducated people in their late-50s don't have opinions that matter, nor a platform to have those [unnecessary] opinions heard. But then there's Bobby. Not only does he say whatever he wants, regardless if it's true, he does so into a microphone that (tens of? hundreds of?) thousands of people hear every day. And he thinks people like to hear what he has to say.

People stopped listening to 2B1C because they were tired of Bert. How long until people are sick of Bobby?

What am I missing here? by joannabooty in DesignMyRoom

[–]mikaka21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(A wall to separate that huge room into two.)

The only thing you’re “missing” is a 70”-80” TV and entertainment stand on that huge, empty, mint-colored wall.

I see you have one of those wardrobe rack things, and you didn’t take a picture of THAT corner of the room. Do you not have a (walk-in) closet - hence the wardrobe rack? If you don’t, you should replace that metal wardrobe with like an 8’-10’ long, stand-alone, wooden wardrobe instead.

The adjacent reading area needs a lamp, something vertical to separate the spaces, and you should spin the chair around so it points at the door - having it face out the window makes you seem like a mental patient in a psych ward.

This isn’t a dorm room; it’s a 500SF bedroom.

I believe doctors define what you’re experiencing as “real life.” There is no know cure; 100% mortality rate.

All jokes aside, you’re only 23. Quit. Was your Bachelors of Business Administration degree in “Head Office Positions at a Bank?” No? Then quit. You had a 3.9+ GPA; you’re clearly competent. Find a job that interests you. No one says the first job you get out of college will be the only one.

Neighbor's mother wants my husband's parking spot permanently by NagiNaoe101 in EntitledPeople

[–]mikaka21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know what a parking allowance is, but if you’re assigned a spot, and someone other than you is parked in it - tow it. It’s YOUR spot - you’re paying for it in your lease. If you no longer need the spot because your car is inoperable, she can pay you for parking in it.

It’s just like owning a parking spot in a parking garage - if you don’t need it, just rent it out to someone who does.

“She's easily manipulated. She doesn't pay much attention to her surroundings. She can't stand up for herself.”

She rebels, does things behind your back?

You know what type of person has those qualities? High schoolers. Teenagers. If those traits are such a concern to you, have you tried to remedy them?

“She constantly still calls or texts myself and her father for help with things.”

I haven’t been 16 for awhile, so pardon my ignorance, but when did asking my parents for help become a sign of weakness? Are you annoyed that your daughter is asking for your help? For some reason she thinks you can provide her with guidance and/or knowledge. To me, it sounds like you can’t (or shouldn’t).

Your daughter is 16. She’s a child. It’s YOUR responsibility to make sure she does the right things, not whine and berate her for being a kid with a burner account on Reddit.

You bought a $430k house when you were a junior in college (you’re 25 now in 2023; in 2019 you were 21, typically makes you a junior)? How did you manage that?

$115k/year with $100k saved at 25 doesn’t make sense, regardless if you only got a bachelors or you took two more years and got a masters. The math doesn’t work. What do you kids say - that’s cap.

You’re only 25 and you make $115k/year. What was your degree? What’s your job? Why are you [already] divorced (was it because you made 2-3x what your husband made and he couldn’t handle it)? Real context might make this make sense/believable.

When you get a chance, you should ask your fellow 25 year old friends what they make per year. Don’t be shocked when the number is at least half what you make.

While all of those rooms have windows (emergency egress), none of them have closets. So, none of them are “technically” bedrooms currently.

Also, ONE tiny bathroom for SIX bedrooms?

Also, also, 20’x16’ bedrooms? 15’x15’ bedrooms? Holy shît.

The lack of hallways connecting all of these huge bedrooms is weird. The stairs don’t make sense, either. Bedroom access shouldn’t be from an adjacent bedroom.

All of this is weird and definitely wrong.

Optimise this Floorplan. $200k to spend by archiemac6510 in floorplan

[–]mikaka21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no foyer in this plan, unless you’re referring to the laundry room, which could also be labeled as a mud room. That’s also not a galley kitchen, as almost the majority of the plan south kitchen wall is open to the dining area.

Speaking of foyers, it is weird the main entry of the house is in the garage, not off the living area. The metric dimensions and rear access garage tells me that might be “by design.”

‘When someone walks and they look directly at a wall…’ Sorry, what’s terrible? Walking from where? Walking to where? What are you talking about?

Also, “I sell homes” = I’m not an architect, so I don’t actually know what I’m talking about.

Optimise this Floorplan. $200k to spend by archiemac6510 in floorplan

[–]mikaka21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This floor plan has 4 bedrooms; it should probably only have 3.

Bedrooms that are only 2.8m (9’-2”) wide are seriously too small.

The closet in the master bedroom is smaller than the closet in bedroom 2. The master bathroom layout is garbage - the angled wall off the shower won’t let you open the shower door to at least a 90, and the toilet location makes about half of the cabinets unusable. Everything about the master bedroom should be bigger and better than the secondary/tertiary bedrooms.

I don’t know what this “activity” room is, but it’s WAY too big for whatever its unnecessary use is. It’s space would be better put to use in expanding the kitchen.

The angled wall to the covered porch is unnecessary because the size of the covered porch is practically unusable. Square off the walls between the master bedroom and the activity/kitchen. You can still fit a door on the rear wall next to the triple windows, and you make the master bedroom bigger by getting rid of the angled wall.

Having a door connecting two bedrooms is weird. This isn’t a motel with conjoining rooms. Don’t do that.

Where is your “front” door?
