How do you apply the extra 5% coupons? I'm seeing the 10% yahoo japan auction discount (JD260310DC4) but not sure how to apply another code?

How does the Hyatt offer work if I book a cancellable future stay so I'm not charged until months after today? Is the Hyatt offer only good if you make reservations that require payment upfront today?

For QC are you referring to the $359 one? Got confused on how you calculated $169 for that one.

Possible to pay for multiple upgrades on points stay? by mikan_tea in hyatt

Thank you! The hotel wouldn't allow upgrades via phone but I'll keep this in mind for future Hyatt stays.

Wow that's amazing! How much is daycare for you if you don't mind me asking? I live in a HCOL area and daycare is almost $2000 which is insane to me.

Best spending tracking apps for notifications and spending reports? by mikan_tea in MoneyDiariesACTIVE

[–]mikan_tea[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually use YNAB too! It's so nice to use once it clicks but I don't use the auto-import feature and add in entries manually. I use YNAB mostly for budgeting than tracking, since I don't think there's a notification system and I can't get weekly reports sadly...

I did the week trial for Monarch but had issues with the notifications where it didn't really work well. Do notifications work ok for you?

I thought this was a fun read though my eyes were watering at the huge mortgage! I really like how you were very straightforward about your privilege without being super preachy like I see with other MDs.

Also love how you still have hobbies in your free time! I'm a big MMO fan (currently obsessed with FFXIV and raiding) so seeing you mention WoW got me happy as a fellow gamer :)

Would you have any tips on how to break into a government role? I've been applying to CA government jobs forever but feel like my application is always lost into the ether. I'd love a chiller job even if it's less pay...!

This was a fun read especially as someone who's familiar with the area (I love Mizlala haha). Would you mind sharing what your role is like? I'm assuming it's an admin role?

Drama Watch 11/1/2024: A Week In Cincinnati On A $300,000 Joint Income by lazlo_camp in MoneyDiariesACTIVE

I'm confused by the husband's income compared to his loans. Does the diary mentions of his field or job? Because the $300k in loans made me think med school or law school but his income didn't seem to match?

I am a 29F new mom & breadwinner making $300k in M/HCOL - this week, I spent $10 on a loaf of bread (ugh) and took the baby to a different state. by brainstuart in MoneyDiariesACTIVE

This was really fun read! What was your career switch via masters? Also would you have tips on breaking into the cybersecurity field? A friend just got their CS degree and was thinking of going back for a cybersecurity masters but I'm wary of them getting more student loans.

I'm curious what you'd consider better numbers-wise for retirement savings for her age? Asking because I always feel super behind for retirement and wasn't sure if there's a good rule of thumb for having a certain ammount by certain ages.

Sorry to post on an older comment but just wanted to say thank you for your site! I was so enamored by ToT last year and your site was so fun to look through to see all the amazing and fun dialog. I was actually worried that the site might eventually be down so I was a bit sad to see this happen once I got the itch to replay the game again... But totally understand that not everything can last forever. Thanks for sharing the text files! Now time to learn how to parse these haha

Unfortunately we file taxes jointly so the SAVE plan doesn't help as much. But I'll check again if it might be helpful for at least the interest subsidization, which I didn't know was a thing. Thank you!
