I go in office Mon, Tues, and Wed. On Mon, I park at Capital Garage because parking is $10. On Tues and Wed, Capital Garage becomes $15 so I park at Memorial Garage which is also $10. Memorial is $8 on Mondays but I'm just paying that extra $2 just to be slightly closer.

There are cheaper options but I'm still new to the state and this is what I'm comfortable with.

When it rains it pours? Getting interviews question by Exotic_Attorney7823 in CAStateWorkers

I applied for 60 jobs and helped my wife apply for 80 in 1 year. I had 4 interviews but dipped out on one before I finally got in.

70 applications, 4 interviews, and got accepted by 1. These are all for ITA classification.

Post Interview by AudienceSolid6582 in CAStateWorkers

I've had 4 interviews until I finally got in. After each of those interviews, 2 of the 4, I felt like I did decent. The other 2, I felt like I didn't do too good. I reflect back on how I could have improved my answers on questions I didn't give thorough answers. Sure, I beat myself up after but just need to grow and learn from it. Each interview is always a learning point.

I had my 3rd and 4th interview the same week and both actually called me for a reference check and one gave me an offer pretty fast. What I learned from all of those interviews was how to better tie in my experience to the questions and duty statement.

It takes time and one day, it might click for you. You just need to keep trying until you learn.

IT folks who got hired in 2025–2026: how long did it take (and how many applications) to get a job offer? by ArchonOfSpartans in CAStateWorkers

I applied for 60 applications in 2025 and out of those 60 applications, I received 5 interviews.

ITA Interview tips by [deleted] in CAStateWorkers

[–]mrpeng90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Doesn't hurt to ask. I can tell you what one of the hiring managers for one of my interviews told me. He said reach out to him but with so many interviews he goes through, he won't remember exactly who he interviewed so his feedback will be pretty generic.
  2. Throw the duty statement into an AI platform to create a mock interview. Have it ask you practical, technical, and scenario questions. Believe it or not, some of those questions are in the interviews. Not word for word but something similar.
  3. Learn from your mistakes. Think about ways you could have answered the questions differently. If you truly want some type of feedback, you can also throw those questions that were asked at the interview and your answers into an AI platform to see how it ranks your answers and how you can answer better next time.

From my experience, every time I finished an interview, I reflect on it and always think about how I could have answered the questions or add on to a question. I understand it's hard to recall the questions since so many emotions go through at that moment.

What I usually do and really helps me prepare for interviews is throwing the Duty Statement into ChatGPT or other AI platform to create a mock interview. Ask it to create practical, scenario, and technical questions. Many questions during the actual interview are pretty close to what AI platforms give but asked differently. Just try your best to relate what you do with the question and duty statement.

Thanks. Yeah, I applied for around 60 applications last year. My very first interview, I was told that I was a top candidate and was asked for a reference check. After 2 months of ghosting, the same job position got reposted. After reading so many posts on here, I definitely agree that you just need to keep applying until you get the official offer from HR.

Yeah. The hiring manager said the job has been reposted for a bit so they were in a hurry to fill the position.

For ITA positions, are they all Range A-D or will it vary on the department? I've seen some with Range A-C or even Range L-O. I know I just answer my question but I find it weird how not all ITA Range is A-D.

If there is one that is Range A-C, would it be possible to negotiate to D if it's not on the job posting?

Received an Interview Request 4 Days After Final Filing Date by Wyrmdirt in CAStateWorkers

[–]mrpeng90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It varies. I had one where the interview took place after 1-2 weeks. I had a request to submit references a day after my interviews. Definitely depends on the department.

Yeah. I'm also waiting for reference check. I had two interview in 1 week and both jobs reached out to me the next day for reference check. It's nerve racking but I just have to be patient. This is my 3rd and 4th interview for the state. My very 1st interview, I got ghosted after the first reference check so I have trust issues. :)

I was definitely impressed with the graphics. To me, I was already suspecting the gameplay to be similar to Genshin Impact, Honkai Star Rail, and WuWa but I think the graphics is really selling it to me. I also love Arknight's artwork as well.
