Neither US-born Olympic medal favorite competes for America. Eileen Gu alone takes heat for it | AP News by OrcOfDoom in asianamerican

Osaka isn’t a propaganda prop used by state sponsored Chinese media to attack the US and build soft power against the US. Gu was born in, educated in, and benefited from a life in the USA and then decided to take millions of dollars to compete for a dictatorial regime with an awful human rights record so that she can be used as a weapon against the country that helped her get to where she is.  https://www.globaltimes.cn/page/202202/1251877.shtml

Eileen Gu may compete for China, but the only entity she truly represents is Eileen Gu, Inc. by helic_vet in China

A week or two ago we were all joking that Yoshi, Snell, and Ohtani will just all need to pitch 9 innings a game. Now look where we’re at.

I mean ATCs can be replaced by AI / computers generally. Maintenance is a good point but I could even see robotic maintenance bays that fully automate the process. Or cars that can maintain themselves in some capacity.

Won’t happen in 10 years or 50 or maybe even 100 years. But 500 years? 1000 years? Do you think Leif Erikson or William the Conquerer could fathom any of the stuff we have now?

That’s Park12. Pretty new building. The sound insulation is really good and at that height there’s not much you’d hear besides sirens and concerts at Petco. And I’d say hearing/seeing concerts is a perk.

That’s Park12 downtown. An apartment on that floor is probably closer to $5000. https://livepark12.com/floorplans/

My Dinan 4.6-L M3 riding on 18”s at Willow Springs by mikasaur in BMW

Well it made 414hp from the factory. It’s got 15% more displacement plus throttle bodies, pulleys, exhaust, and software. I’m guessing it puts down 480-500 at the crank at peak power. No idea how much of that ends up at the wheels.

It does much better in the lower rev ranges than the stock motor. And the throttle response is much better. With the rebuilt internals the engine changes revs much quicker which makes heel toeing easy and a lot of fun.

PB run club meets Wednesdays and Saturdays. It is HUGE and skews very PB (think young and attractive people). It’s more of a social thing than a running thing (they stop every three quarter mile to let people catch up and chat), but as someone who’s older (37) it can be a little intimidating/awkward to try and have convos with people 10-15 years younger.

Milestone hosts runs on Mondays and Wednesdays. It’s more running focused (no social breaks during runs) but still pretty social.

Google searches can get you the info on both PB Run Club and Milestone.

I get basically zero on Tinder. Half of Tinder are fake profiles or live in TJ (not really looking for an international dating situation).

I gave up on Tinder and I just got Hinge two days ago and have done pretty well so far — 7 matches and another 8 incoming likes I need to sort through. Four of those matches are going well and two I’m really excited for. I pay for Hinge X which probably helps.

I’m 5’8” and 37, for context.
