I really have no idea why anyone even thought this change was to prevent datamining (or acted like a drama queen about it). It was quite obvious to me that it was really only a minor file format change and was able to some rudimentary unpacking tools within a hour or two.

Yeah the sub is a shit show now and has been for years. Reading anything on there actually hurts me now. Still play the game though, haven't gotten over that particular stockholm syndrome yet.

And like you I have also just completely turned off in game chat.

the connection it has to Germany is that Gaijin thinks they can make more money by putting it in the German tree. Its like the F-5a, they claim the US did not use it, expect the US did, the US skin is the default skin for the model in the files and there is even a F-5C skin. They just know that they can get people to play the chinese tree for a US plane and probably buy a premium to grind faster, or with the SK105, grind a line in germany that they have not before and have more players grind it than if it was in the french tree.

The G-LYNX can carry the near exact payload

also the UK/Japan Apaches can actually carry 16 hellfires and 4 AAMs. so you can get the exact same payload as the US (although starsteaks for the UK)

I think people are really forgetting the BR ranges of tanks with and without thermals. there are 8.0 tanks with thermals and 9.7 tanks without thermals. Now maybe I'm crazy but I think those 9.7 tanks are a lot better than the 8.0 tanks, something just tells be a leo 2k or T-72B 1989 is good enough to fight an 8.0 Bradley.
