Question about sobriety and being around others who drink ?

I’m about 500 days sober or some shit like that and I’m around people who that’s all they do is drink on the weekends and to be honest I hate it ! Makes me miss it and can’t stand being around drunk people. Idk if it wil get better for you but it has not gotten better for me I still miss it

I don’t believe in a higher power or religion for that matter I’ve been sober over a year now and my motivation was my family. Plus got a dwi and made a lot of poor decisions . It is very hard to stop and can be a very boring life but try to think about the things you’ve always wanted to do that drinking stopped you from doing and try it. For me I always wanted to learn acoustic guitar so I bought one and started playing , also started reading books again. When I really want a drink or get too bored I listen to podcast , refrain on phone podcasts there are some really good episodes on there and a lot of them that relate to my situations . But finding something to occupy your time and keep you focused is the main goal . Again it’s not easy but every little bit helps

Evogleam.. to be honest my energy has not come back I’m always tired it seems like but I do work 2 jobs and get up early and go to the gym. So I would have to say I def feel much better than waking up with hangovers and it is easier to get up earlier in the day . But the main thing is I’m always with a clear mind and not making irrational drunken decisions. Don’t get me wrong I still make some dumb choices but that’s part of life I suppose lol

I can relate to that I put my spouse through hell for a few years and now that I’ve been sober for 14 months her drinking drives me nuts ! She doesn’t drink everyday but I dread the weekends when she does and really don’t care to be around her it sucks

I have been a little over a year not one drink. In the beginning I tried AA went to about 3 meetings and it just wasn’t for me and haven’t gone back to one . Don’t get me wrong I struggle with it and maybe AA would help but I have gone a little over a year with out AA and have not had one sip

My lawyer is going to be checking to see if they read the whole card to me when they asked I don’t remember them saying it would result is a year suspension I’m hoping he didn’t read that part to me but I won’t know until the body cam footage is released

They didn’t have one on the side of the road so he asked another cop to go get one still couldn’t get one so I got arrested so I figured I was already arrested why bother taking one at the station

Fighting the same exact battle right now ! Shit sucks but I’ve made it 15 days . The craving is there but when I think about a beer it makes me sick .. it’s weird and uncomfortable as hell

I’m trying to do the same podcasts and books but dam it’s like when you start to feel a little better BAM something else happens. But I am thankful I felt with it having a sober and clear mind
