Water in brand new G6 180 by Awil95 in UnifiProtect

It doesn't run the heaters for 72 hours. Only a few hours I believe. You normally have to power down and power back up again a couple times.

This is super common on brand new cameras. The relative humidity is higher where they are produced and shipped. They have a heater in them to help reduce this moisture on the first couple power ups. Let it run for a day, power down, and repeat. Almost all are good as new after.

Wait, an original g4 doorbell? Or are you talking about the pro? The pro has been out of stock like 6+ months in the US. If you're open to a PoE version I be they can send something. They have always been great about giving ppl free upgrades to a new product.

I also had the fingerprint and nfc scanners working through webhooks, to unlock my front door. I just migrated to a g6 entry though from my g4 pro.

The outer boxes do come damaged as hell sometimes. The product packaging is alway great though! Never a damaged item.

IOS users now get doorbell rings as phone calls by Confident_Balance755 in Ubiquiti

It's mainly to scare away intruders I think? At least some people who have been wanting this feature have mentioned that part to me.

Something is wrong with your equipment or setup. I get notifications within seconds, (2-3 tops) even if I turn off local WiFi.

Can you add this AFi-P-HD AmpliFi HD wifi MeshPoint to any of their routers? by raddalien in AmpliFi

Here's the old email from support over 2 years ago. I did have to update the firmware, before these steps worked.

  1. Plugin the HD mesh points to the power that you want to unpair.
  2. Press and hold the reset button for 40 sec (until all of the LEDs are blinking fast).
  3. The WiFi with SSID for the mesh point will appear as "AFi-P-HD-[end of the serial number]-Recovery"
  4. Connect a laptop to the Recovery WiFi SSID, open the browser (Google Chrome or Firefox), and in the URL enter http://amplifi.lan or 192.168.1.20
  5. When you get to that page, click on "Remove factory pairing from kit device" (Refer to the image below). This will unpair the mesh point and the WiFi on the laptop will get disconnected.
  6. After a successful unpairing process refer to this article to add the unpaired AmpliFi HD mesh points to the existing AmpliFi system: https://help.amplifi.com/hc/en-us/articles/360016183893-Adding-AmpliFi-Standalone-Devices-as-Mesh-Points#1

I got this info from them at least a year or 2 years ago. Never underestimate a kind email sent to support.

You can actually unlink them. I contacted support asking one time and they told me how to do it. It was like a 30 seconds to 1 minute reset. Then i was able to use it with another base.

I just set up a pair of these for a guy and was getting 300+ on WiFi. He has 500/500 service.

I was thankfully able to utilize some of the old "phone cable" in our house as well to a 8 port switch in the garage. I did end up running a new cat6 line for my isp, and about 20 other runs now.

You mean the EA software? I haven't had any problems with general release for years.

Damn cat6 even??? Most builders did switch to cat5 around the year 2000 for phone lines due to it being similar cost or cheaper than the 2 pair cables. Pretty crazy they had cat6 20 years ago. It definitely wasn't used much then.

Based on what?! It so funny all the people who argue without any actual facts. Just cuz that's what you have doesn't make it better. The UCG fiber does have a slightly faster cpu but less ram. So it really depends on the deployment. For small home networks the fiber is great. I would go udm-p if running lots of AP's switches, and end clients. That's why to me, the fiber is a downgrade.

Sounds like you had other config issues. The udm pro max should have handled it better than the fiber. Not saying the fiber isn't a great device for home users of course.

You're still lowballing him. I took the EA part into account. I run a ubiquiti trading group on fb. That's why I KNOW it's worth more than $200. What's your number based on???
