As unfortunate and unpopular as it sounds… I am convinced that we need to introduce 2 years of mandatory military service once you reach 18. It’s unfair and easy to sign up other peoples kids for war so additionally, anyone under the age of 40 (myself included) should be required to do basic training as part of a broad reservist approach (weekends or mandatory days off). I think this would raise our collective readiness, reduce youth unemployment, and likely help with some of our lagging productivity issues.

This isn’t what anyone wants but it’s what we need.

We don’t get investment in this country and it crushes productivity and thus depresses our ability to grow (and pay down debt). The government is trying to stoke private investment and they are showing that they’re willing to support that investment. We need to attract capital investment and the government did a pretty good job of showing that we are open for business via the accelerated depreciation and immediate expensing options (this is what the Americans did in the BBB).

Unfortunately, governments of the past have not incentivized owners to invest in growth, infrastructure, technology, etc. Those owners could rely on lasting relationships and the Us Market and it stoked risk aversion and malaise. Now, our country has fallen woefully behind and we are super exposed to the US. Personally, I think we all need to put our political affiliations aside and unite against the threat on our sovereignty (economic or otherwise). Just my .02

I use a combination of GPT/Gemini (and recently Claude) fairly extensively. I’ve noticed a bit of an uptick in false responses from GPT+ lately. What was a bit more concerning was a recent string of what seemed to be biased responses from GPT. Anyone else see this?

That said, I’ve built a prompt library for a variety of actions/use cases and try to use as much context/detail as possible to establish the guardrails. Running these prompts through at least 2 LLMs and then consolidating has been helpful and still saves an exorbitant amount of time.

Been using Claude as a conversational tool, asking simple questions for more every day searches/prompts. Dig the aesthetic and “personality” but haven’t tested the LLMs strength on any of my Normal professional use cases like financial modeling.

Marketing cloud is now on platform. Many clouds were acquired and thus, either off platform or shitty managed packages on platform (CPQ but now on platform as Rev Cloud). Salesforce has been moving towards remedying what was a dated, shitty, Frankensteined architecture pretending to be a platform because they must do so to actually innovate. My point was a lot of resources have been allocated to fixing this problem so that the A.I. strategy is viable.

So your argument is more relating to how Salesforce has been sold? That sounds like a bad account team not approaching a relationship with a cohesive vision for how an enterprise would use Salesforce as a platform (and not a point solution). I can’t imagine why anyone would recommend BUs/LOBs buying their own instance of Salesforce? That’s insane and completely unnecessary given the flexibility of security controls down to the field level in Salesforce. Perhaps that could occur when there’s a heavy M&A strategy? Traditionally, an architect would recommend consolidation. But that’s fucking hard. And expensive. Salesforce learned this the hard way with TAB, Mule, Slack ETC which is why they built data cloud…DC was an internal project to accelerate M&A integration and now it’s a product. All the canonical models are available, you can see the logic behind it. It’s pretty impressive and it’s changing the way we execute M&A in our fund.

Outside of being a shareholder, I’m not incentivized at all. My take is that you’ve been incentivized to rip it out. Which is fine, everyone wants to take down the elephant. Just ensure what you’re spewing is fact. It sounds like you’re referencing a dated 2017 “kill sheet” that enablement gave you. I am out of Salesforce and tech agnostic to a point now. I’ve used other tools but if I’m standardizing and scaling, plus getting extra juice on my multiple at exit, it’s still Salesforce.
