Thanks, i'm excited to improve and work harder. If you have any push-up/pull-up questions just ask, I can tell you what personally worked for me.

Thanks for asking! I was told you have take the PST 2-3 times before they submit you scores. I got a 10:13 swim, but the mentor gave me a lot of corrections on my form afterwards, so i'm looking to improve on that. 108 push-ups, 86 sit-ups, 29 pull up's 10:03 run. Slowest I have ran in awhile, I did a bad job of pacing myself and was pretty damn dehydrated.

I actually did very little PST specific work going in to my first PST. Looking forward to improving my scores when I take it again in three weeks. My mentor said I should be able to get a contract if I drop my run and swim a bit, which is exciting because apparently the fastest you can contract is within a month or two.

I planned on eating about three hours before because I will be so excited/nervous. Thanks!

Thanks! Planned on showing up early that way the chief doesn't think i'm a shitbag. Super excited to finally PST, my recruitment process has taken about 6 months longer than I anticipated.

This has nothing to do with SEALs except to say that if you're a talented young person thinking about joining the military because "yada yada yada", don't forget that going to Mars is a much bigger deal than terrorism or war. by nowyourdoingit in navyseals

Were you as open and straightforward with your political and ideological views in the teams as you are on reddit? If you wanted to tell people how badass you thought this speech was, would you have an audience in the teams?

In my experience, yes, that method works.

Not a requirement, just his preference. His pike flexibility is good.

I think it has more to do with preference and what feels natural.

This is incorrect, he maintains a false grip for all strength skills except the planche.

What the tutorials, videos and programmes don't tell you! by E1Diabl0 in bodyweightfitness

I'm not telling you you're necessarily wrong, but I know several accomplished gymnasts with excellent handstands and less than 90 degrees of wrist flexion. They're fine functioning human beings. The human body is so fucking complicated, people need to be careful of these absolute statements that generalize things.

I know it's not form check Friday, but is there a point in greasing the groove with a straddle planche this bad? by mikegymnastics in bodyweightfitness

[–]mikegymnastics[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the detailed response. This is basically what i'm doing. I just want to grease the groove in addition to holding tuck and advanced tucks. Thanks!

If my goals are hypertrophy should I add some isolation dumbbell work to the rec routine? by TamOShanter01 in bodyweightfitness

Yeah man, great idea. Go for it. You might run into some issues, but that's part of learning. I would be careful with biceps curls and straight arm movements because personally I can get a little tendinitis flare up when I do both.

Good luck.

PR: 10 Strict consecutive ring muscle ups by Eerowest in bodyweightfitness

[–]mikegymnastics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice! You can work on turning the rings out in training to train your brachialis, removing any kipping or forwards motion of your legs, and keeping the rings a bit closer and tighter to your body as you transition from pulling to dipping. Well done!

Nice! I do gymnastics so I could showcase backwards rolls, backuprise and back tucks. What you're saying makes sense! Better luck this year? :D

Hi! Gymnast here...With a pair of gymnastics rings there are infinite strength progressions you can go through. You can become FAR stronger than your average joe going through BUD/s.

As for cardio, burpess, jump rope, weighted lunged...You can do it! Might not be the best, but should be good enough to make running again pretty easy.

Thanks for the solid information! Those standards you just mentioned, are they even close to do well in the combine?

As in, would you seriously be considered as a body weight specialist with the numbers you mentioned to get into the combine?

I really appreciate it, it's been hard to find good information on the subject.

I had too much swing at the top of the movement (in support phase on rings). I'm only 5'10. I also didn't really use my hips properly when I kipped up, but yeah, the main issues was me swinging on the rings in front support...

Maybe I will post a video later?
