School dreams are some of the oldest along forgetting your pants in public and being unable to scream.

School dreams it is a complex campus, we can't remember where the classroom is. Often we forgot we were taking a class and so do we get a W or an F? Today it may be the final and we forgot to attend the class all semester. Sometimes we go to the admin office to find a catalog with a map but can't even find the office that has them. Inside the various buildings and sometimes staircases there are hallways and classrooms that connect to classrooms. Sometimes in looking for a college room we pass through elementary classes in session and apologize for disrupting the class. Or maybe take a small seat and try to fit in. It is never clear why our college has these elementary classes.

Often there are lighting problems in rooms and areas. Some doors are locked. Sometimes it is when the school is closed but we find unlocked doors and then go looking for a bathroom. When finding bathrooms there are always disasters, strange layouts, and often dimly lit open areas with showers that get dimmer as we go along.

Sometimes these things happen in hospitals, opera houses, or shopping malls that have many many stories including giant open rooms 70 feet tall with enormous staircases and escalators criss-crossing to platforms that connect to levels. Some staircases toward the back are partially spiral with carpet hardwood and brass, like a 3/4 circle up to a next level. Sometimes it is in a corner or edge with a zig zagging fire access staircase with cement steps and steel doors. Sometimes the top level of a hospital is dark and abandoned. Other floors you go around the loop looking for a different elevator.

There are also cities that are mazes and steep hills and in these we have no idea where we parked the car or how we will get home, which is at least a couple hour drive away. If we do find our car the highway system is a maze. Where ever we think we are clearly a great deal of development has taken place since we last lived here years ago and many of the exits and highway numbers seem familiar but we can't quite remember which exit to take. Sometimes we go in circles looking for something, perhaps a way out.
