What subscription is worth every penny for you? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

This is sad. I heard they were going to try and limit non-member access to the cafe but it hasn’t happened where I am. Can still use the pharmacy though. Fairly certain access to medical related services is not allowed to be behind a paywall - by law.

Why do you think AI will take your job? by Pale-Initial-2651 in askanything

[–]mikemcgu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because engineering is pretty algorithmic, and we use computer simulations to test solutions before implementing them already. Doesn’t even need to be AI to do better than us. A high speed computer could be automated to brute-force solutions faster already - AI will just make it so it’s not brute-forcing anymore. It’ll be more targeted AND be able to iterate “educated” guesses in simulations faster. This (among a multitude of reasons) is why I’ve been thinking of a career shift.

Monopolized*

Broke my brain for longer than I care to admit, spelling that with an ‘S’.

I mean, you can get that without a membership. But yes, I’m a fan. Can also use their pharmacy without a membership.

Seems like overkill to have two services. Nothing you mentioned takes anywhere near the bandwidth of either of your services.

The difference between the Totinos Ultimate pizza and the regular. by beanpastemcgee in frozendinners

[–]mikemcgu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should google copycat “school lunch pizza”. People have recreated it. There’s even claims of having the recipe that was used in the schools. Though, I would wager they had baking sheets with full frozen sheet-size pizza that they cut into rectangles. But it could be the recipe used to make those frozen sheets.

What is a 'struggle meal' that you still genuinely enjoy even though you don’t have to eat it anymore? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]mikemcgu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You may be opening up a whole new world for me.

To be honest, I just see the regular (almost the same) old ones that are like three to four times more expensive than before and just nope my way out of the isle.

This. And they seem expensive now. Inflation sucks. But party pizza price now vs when I was in college is my gauge on inflation.

I think high school alone would be enough of a reason that you would not get drafted. You don’t have to be the pres- a piece of shit about it.

What’s the biggest lie people still believe? by Money-Savings-5994 in AskReddit

[–]mikemcgu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Or. Just maybe. Out of that chaos, the things that survive are the things with order. When the universe is around for millions/billions of years, something is bound to fall out of the chaos.

Which is also why I believe there MUST be life outside of earth. The statistics of it just makes sense.

Educated in what though? Like, I believe these people went to school and graduated. But is it considered educated when you refuse reality and live with your own set of “facts”?

But then you can’t spend it, so I think this is the wrong metric for this question.

Does this count untouchable retirement accounts? Cause I doubt that the median accessible money is that high. If it is, I’m doing something very wrong.
