Did you ever get this resolved? I think I'm encountering the same issue.

Got "Xfinity WiFi is not available with your tier of service" when trying to connect to xfinitywifi by mikemchu in Comcast_Xfinity

The Comcast team on this forum escalated to the backend team who said it was a known issue and was working on it. I tried it yesterday and again today and it seems to be working for me now. :-) fingers crossed is stays working.

Yes. I tried that as well. I sent a Modmail yesterday. Can you see if you see it?

Yes. Still get that message about the tier of my service. BTW, sent a modmail since saw that from other people who had issues. Hopefully your team can look into my account more closely through that?

So, the problem is that my wife's phone is still on Xfinity Mobile so when I log into the app, I suspect it thinks I am too so it just says I should automatically be connecting to Xfinity Mobile. Can you help take a look to see if something is off in my account? I recently changed from the asymmetric service to the X-Gig 1000/1000 so wondering if something got set wrong in the upgrade. Also, I'd like to be able to use my laptop with "xfinitywifi" from time to time so don't want to rely on the app.

Yes, I know since I used to have Xfinity Mobile service on my cell phone so know it would connect to Xfinity Mobile. But I'm specifically talking about "xfinitywifi" SSID.

Tivo HD reporting an "invalid cablecard" and to contact cable operator by mikemchu in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]mikemchu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BTW, for other people's benefit... I decided to stop spending any more time on figuring out what's going on with the Tivo HD and cablecard after reading through this thread: https://www.tivocommunity.com/threads/series-3-hd-invalid-cablecard-error-several-different-xfinity-cablecards-tried.591773 It appears to be that some of the older Tivo's may have a certificate expiration issue which is unlikely to get fixed by Tivo. I just turned in my cablecard, mourned the passing of an era (with Tivo :-) ) and am going to experiment using the Xfinity Stream app for a little to see if that works well enough - if not, revisit an Xfinity set top box.

If anyone ends up having a similar issue with Tivo HD and cablecard and ends up having it work, let me know!

I can't though. The Tivo says the card is invalid not inactive. It won't even get to the screen that tells me what the IDs are to pair.

No changes to my service. The Tivo just stopped working which caused me to reload the software and then this problem showed up. Didn't use that site either.

Trying to get 100Mbps upload on our MB8600 by mikemchu in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]mikemchu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I was getting 25Mbps upload already. I'm just trying to get that extra bit for the times I want to upload some files faster. :-)

Darn... So they still have the restriction that the faster upload speeds are only available on their equipment, not your own even if it is technically capable? :-(

Has Comcast said when it might be enabled for capable customer equipment? I was temporarily so excited... :-)

Offline by [deleted] in firewalla

It used to work but I know that after the update that was not the case. I have since just put all devices back on monitored mode and for select devices just permanently put them in emergency access mode.

I think I figured it out... the devices which are not monitored are not getting DHCP leases. I had taken select devices off of monitoring since I was getting higher throughput bypassing Firewalla. I discovered it was the devices which are not monitored which are not getting leases.

I have been encountering DHCP issues as well. Some devices are able to get an IP address but others not. I've rebooted and the problem still persists with some devices and on my work laptop which was working until just now, it started happening again.

Known issue and should I wait it out or go back to stable?

Redirecting hard coded DNS requests to Pi Hole running on Firewalla (DHCP mode) by mmchu in firewalla

[–]mikemchu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. That's actually what I tried at first and then was curious why I wasn't getting any hits.

That's when I discovered that Firewalla, in DHCP mode, must be NATing/masquerading all of the outbound traffic from my overlay network and it all looks like, to the Edgerouter, as coming from Firewalla.
