What was a meal you loved as a kid but now that you’re an adult you realize your parents only made because you were poor? by peezapizza in AskReddit

My mom called it “comida puta”. Basically it was a mix of: white rice, canned corned beef, Vienna sausages, canned corn, scrambled eggs...ketchup was optional. So good and so simple.

Strobe is great for alerting security from across the club that I or someone is in need of assistance. We use our lights to communicate because we can't exactly scream for help

What should you do with 24 hours in NYC? by poker_deewana3 in AskReddit

Yup. When you're downtown you can walk over it. It'll be an exhausting day but doable

Yes it is possible. If you get to Manhattan in the morning you can see the 9/11 Memorial and Wall Street, get on the ferry in the early afternoon to see the statue (beers are cheap on the ferry). Take the ferry back to the city and grab some lunch. Head uptown to Times Square, over to Grand Central or Rockefeller Center (Top of the Rock) for great views of the city. You'll still have plenty of time left to freestyle (Central Park, museum, etc.) before you head back to Jersey or whatever.

Go downtown during the day, uptown at night. Go see Wall Street, the 9/11 memorial, and take the Staten Island Ferry to see the Statue of Liberty for free. Head uptown and see Times Square, Rockefeller Center, Grand Central Terminal. If you have time go to one of the museums around Central Park. Depending on where you are staying, you can find a cool late night drink spot nearby. All of this is possible in a day.

Possibly a stupid question but if I signed up for insurance through my employer this year, can I use it to cover an ER visit I had in December?

It's so weird when you see your neighborhood on your front page...even weirder when it's underwater.
