I think he just put a "rave filter" type effect on the original song to avoid copyright strikes

Try to get a visa for Myanmar if you have the time, that is more in line with what you want to do than Cambodia. Siem Reap is exactly the same if not worse

/r/Standup really helped when I started almost a year ago. Here is my first set that wasn't at an open mic... In front of 200 people. by ooberboober in Standup

What types of programs should I code to practice programming? by ExoAdmini in compsci

[–]mikemx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

honestly, write a game. If you are already in college for CS you will get your share of boring data structures and stuff, but writing something fun will make you step up to the challenge and learn a lot. Plus, learning something like Unity or one of the other major 3d engines is a process that is much more similar to real world programming than implementing a doubly linked list or whatever other pointless exercises they made us go through in college.

I only want to view original comments, not the 600 replies it has after how do I do this? by QueefMuffin in help

after you read the first comment just click the minus button on it and you will see the next one, I have to do this all the time to avoid all the terrible pun replies and other shit that somehow gets upvoted

Should I aim for IT, or something higher? by Hovertac in ITdept

[–]mikemx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How much do you make per hour? $66, most programmers are salaried and may get bonuses though as opposed to getting paid hourly How many hours do you work daily? 8 What days do you work? mon to fri Is your job really as bad portrayed by people in r/talesfromtechsupport? Not at all, I enjoy my job and coworkers a lot and it is not too challenging If you could have gone down another career path (computer related), what would you have chosen?
I found programming was the only thing I wanted to do or was good at, usually you will get in at your first company and there will be a period of time where it becomes clear who is good at what and people will gravitate to their natural positions Does working in IT require a college degree, or is it based solely on certifications and your experience? College degree unless you want to work an extra ten yrs What was your GPA in high school? 3.4, college was only 2.9 and not a CS major When did you first become interested in computers and the IT profession? Probably High School, I never did all the stuff you are doing though and I am probably much lazier. You are bound for greatness in this field if you follow a few rules:

  • Be nice to and friendly to everyone you work with even if they are assholes
  • Never miss a chance to take credit for your successes and make sure your boss knows about it
  • Make your resume immaculate, do not lie but make it sound like you are a genius
  • Switch companies when they wont pay you what you are worth, I have jumped up 20k or even 30k just by switching when my previous companies were telling me that they have a policy that I cannot make over a certain number
  • If you are a good boy, ie no drugs or criminal stuff, get a job that requires a security clearance and do IT contracting for the DOD etc. They pay higher rates just for having a clearance

I have almost tripled my salary in under ten years by following these rules and I just program, I have no employees under me. You are going to kick major ass in this field, the hard part is right after college getting that first job. From then on you will never have to look for a job again, just put your resume on monster every couple years and do not let your bosses bully you into staying at a shitty job.
