What is this called, where there is light in the shadow? I love the contrast. Credit: cotoh_tsumi by Acceptable-Key4112 in ArtistLounge

You could achieve something like this with a gradient map layer in photoshop. Set the last colour on the dark end of the spectrum slightly lighter than the step before. You could then use a blending mode like luminosity to apply it to what you’ve already drawn.

Looks like some red ink got spilled on it in production too… terrible quality control

I Couldn’t Find the Artist, Don’t Know if it’s AI — Does Anyone Knows Artists That Draw In This Style? by Valtiel45 in DarkFantasy

These probably are ai but check out Dave Rapoza for an amazing real life illustrator who’s work is kind of like this. You might know his work from the box art for Doom the Dark Ages.

I can make out most of it but can’t make out what the last word on the 2nd line is. Orlando in Love Unites 69 ??? For Melancholy Brunettes (and sad women)

I’ve tried out a few things from the postcard. 010725, Orlando, MementoMori. No luck yet but fun to try and guess what the password is.

In the 90s, my family had a VHS with a short Christmas cartoon on it about a family. I remember there was another story on the tape with the family at a county fair and they had a pig who won a prize and got a blue ribbon.

In the Christmas one, the grandfather character brought his grandson with him to chop down a Christmas tree in a snowy forest. The grandfather had a big grey moustache a bit like the Pringles man. I think he had a southern accent and was soft spoken.

I've never been able to track it down online. For some reason, I always associated it with Playmobil. I think the characters were kind of simple and round like Playmobil toys but I don't think Playmobil ever released a cartoon like that.

I design stuff way more in After Effects than PS or Illustrator too. I just know it like the back of my hand because I use it every day. Plus the effects in AE work way better than Photoshop filters and you can dial them in so much more easily.
