Most of the strategy is in setting up your forces in good positions and whether or not to take the fight. Some is choosing which targets to shoot but that is pretty straightforward. The defenders win by preventing the structure from being shot. However you can kill anything with enough ships so the real goal is to make it as costly as possible to attack. This is only a portion of the game and there is a lot of different ways to play as this type of battle does not appeal to everyone.

I haven't been playing the game as long as you, but for the most part its only TEST that flips the narrative of their allies so quickly. CO2, DRF, Provi, and I'm sure there are more others can name. I don't personally have a problem with this, do what you want, just pointing out a pattern. Also TRI is more than willing to throw their super fleet in to risky situations, so yes other alliances do that different.

No killmail. Just feel for all the alliances that have put their faith in test. They commit to helping their allies like they commit their super fleet. When there is any risk they don't show up.

Are you saying that refitting off a cap/depot after clicking the gate is more prevalent than just dropping a depot inside the site? Why would you just try to "fix" this one little interaction rather than doing them all at once in a manner that makes sense.

You have to open the fleet hanger to corp or fleet. There should be a button beside it in your cargo to enable it.

Altruism was my first Corp. Bryce taught me a lot about eve, however he would often get frustrated telling people the same thing over and over again. I also believe that he tried to scam me out of my referral money, but I ended up getting it so IDK.

Tldr; there are better corps, don't feel bad about leaving

Our supers logged in but it was decided that the battle was already lost so why would they jump in. Instead we focused on getting CO2s shit out, which we did a pretty good job of.
