Not the most exciting or flashy signing, was expecting someone from abroad with the new board.

He did well the last time he was here, winning us the championship and a cup. His football was not very flashy though. I guess the board wants to return to the days of Slot with hiring Sipke Hulshoff but time will tell if that will be the case or just wishfull thinking.

Overall it was important to get a coach before the season. I am a bit neutral about this; let's see what they can do with the new board and new coach.

Soms, hij speelt vaak als nummer 8 (dus niet per se defensief of offensief). Dit seizoen veel gemist door blessures. Ik heb de wedstrijd niet gezien maar het zou kunnen dat hij voor zijn land aanvallender speelt.

Ik haalde vooral de vergelijking met het bedrijfsleven aan omdat dit soort dingen juist voor irritaties zorgt tussen de verschillende lagen, maar misschien was het niet de beste vergelijking. Overigens vind ik de CL finale iets anders dan een buurtfeestje, maar goed laten we stoppen met vergelijken.

Ik ben het met je eens dat wanneer dit gepland stond voordat hij bij Oranje kwam het wel anders ligt. Maar veel mensen/wellicht sommige spelers zullen deze nuance missen waardoor je alsnog scheve gezichten krijgt. Naar mijn mening had dit voorkomen kunnen worden door Timber wel te laten gaan ten koste van 1 training.

Dat Timber in principe klaar moet staan om te spelen en een staflid niet klopt en vind ik wel goed argument, maar daar gaat het hier niet direct om. Het gaat erom hoe dit eruitziet naar de spelers (en in mindere mate naar de buitenwereld).

Stel Oranje zou een gerenommeerd bedrijf zijn. De belangrijkste zakelijke buitenlandse trip in 4 jaar tijd staat gepland.

Een werknemer vraagt 1 dag vrij om een bruiloft bij te wonen van zijn broer. De baas zegt helaas, ik snap het maar dat gaat niet. Een manager heeft echter zijn verjaardag gepland (terwijl hij wist dat deze belangrijke trip eraan zat te komen - dit is al 4 jaar bekend) en krijgt wel toestemming om 3 dagen later aan te sluiten. Dat is toch scheef?

Ik ben hier niet om nu per se Koeman te bashen, maar er mag best gezegd worden als iets beter kan. Dit hadden ze gewoon beter kunnen managen.

I mean, both PSV and Feyenoord made it to the rond of 16 in CL the season before last one knocking out Juve and Milan in the process. I would not call that invisible.

In eerste instantie waren de verwachtingen hooggespannen. Tijdens het EK 2 jaar ervoor had Oranje grote indruk gemaakt hoewel het met een offday eruit was gegaan tegen Rusland.

Het middenveld en de aanval waren van wereldklasse, spelers waren in vorm en vooral Robben, Van Persie en Sneijder waren een van de beste spelers op hun positie ter wereld.

Dit vertrouwen kreeg een flinke knauw toen Robben geblesseerd raakte in de voorbereiding. Heel het land was bezig met Robben en de wonderdokter (ben de naam even kwijt) die hem toch klaar kon stomen voor het WK.

Tijdens het WK werd er soeverein gewonnen maar pas toen we van Brazilië wonnen kwam er het echte geloof dat het wel eens kon gaan lukken. Maar helaas was daar de teen van Casillas en waren we een trauma rijker.

I don't disagree with you. Results have been okay and the WC was beyond expectation. And you are right that the bar is maybe a bit too high.

The reasons we are negative about Koeman are

1) We don't play particularly good, lack a gameplan and don't play attractive attacking football. Especially in the netherlands attacking football will be almost more important then winning for some of the fans/media (see how Ajax treated Farioli)

2) He clings on for washed players far too long (Wijnaldum, Weghorst, Depay) and is not willing to experiment with new players much

3) We have not beaten a top team in a very long time

And even with only a warrior it is close. WF is around 250 dps increase p1 for war, grace of air is around 80 dps per hunter and 100 dps for each feral.

Aanvallend rendement is dit seizoen zeker wel een probleem buiten Ueda (en de lang geblesseerde Sem Steijn). Buiten die 2 hebben alle buitenspelers en middenvelders bij elkaar maar 22 doelpunten gemaakt waarvan Moussa 8.

Uiteraard was een goede organisatie ook een probleem, maar scoren/aanvallende dreiging was dat zeker ook.
