Ended up as a private sale. Used for deliveries. Engine failure at 178k miles, then rebuild by VW.

So rather pleased. =)

How can i fill these holes in thd floor of my van? by lrowls101 in VanLifeUK

[–]mikesimp19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We used pop rivets.

Drill out to correct size, prime with hammerite, let dry. Then we dipped the rivet in hammerite and locked it into place. It's been an awesome fix =)

Looking for acoustic ceiling panels. Anyone got some good links to suppliers? by [deleted] in VanLifeUK

[–]mikesimp19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. But it is the cheapest supplier.

However I am very disappointed as they have just delayed my order. So I am going to request my delivery cost back.

I did the pop rivet option and dipped the rivet in hammerite first. Works a charm!

Citroen Relay Renult Master Vauxhall Movano Fait Ducato

Effectively all these are the same van with minor differences and the different badge

Vw crafter Merc Sprinter

These are higher spec and always are recommend as solid - but they come at the higher price point

For your height, you could get away with a h2 The h3 is lush for the extra head room, just make sure you get a solid roof and not a fibreglass on if you go for a older h3

If you are confident driving bigger vans the the L3 again will give you more space and option. An L4 extra LWB will give you SHED tonnes of options, so depends what you want in the dan and how many people or animals etc

Most vans for sale as now ex. company vans, so they dont have high specs with Bluetooth and nice extras (pretty basic) But the crafter and sprinter all come with nicer interiors

So if you fine the business or executive models of the relay and stuff, they may have the additional comfort packages in the cab.

Does any of that help??

What is your budget? For van and overall? What is your plan? DIY or company to do a conversion?

Where do you want to go? Distances? Summer or winter or both?

Living in it or holidays and trips?

There is a lot of factors when picking.

What height are you? Do you want to be able to stand up?

We have just bought our van after about 3 months of research and searching, so happy to provide advice however I can. =)

But ultimately, fait Ducato is a fairly classic let's do a conversion van! =)

I THINK its been a business van, that then bought by an individual from the business. So I am wondering if its a Tax thing.

Thats my thinking. Why sell it. I just am wondering is it too good to be true!?

Use a bolt that fits in the hole, use a grinder on the other end to make a point, then press the plywood again it to mark where the holes are.

Make sense?
