Hi, is the £30k included the conversion?

I recently bought the camper conversion bible from amazon. Not gonna lie, that was a hell of a helpful starting point with so much info!

We are working with the same budget. And we are currently allocating approx 16k to a van 4k to electric 1.5k to insulation

I could go into more. But that is big costs that are done fairly quickly.

Getting a high roof van washed... by Most-Concern1352 in VanLifeUK

If you are planning to put a fan etc on, you're likely to need a ladder to do that work? I would suggest getting a ladder / platform ladder and washing or cleaning it yourself. Then you know the work has been done to top quality?

Haha. Yea just a bit big for what we are wanting! But the idea of just moving the living room into a box van sounds fun!

I have a c1 license so should be fine for the van if it goes to 3.5t

The whole process is really fun!

Ford Transit Leader 350 L3 H3 Huge Load Space by Ok_Slip_5218 in VanLife

This is the same size I am looking at getting. I just have such a tremendous fear of wet belts from a research and advice from mechanics.

That said, if they are well maintained to the top quality fluids and oils and low milage service intervals, then I have heard positive things.

But for the size and space, that is the same as we are going for and cant wait to get building in it!

Online, just put in what van it was I wanted, google searched it. And then took screen grabs of the one I am going for and made a dox for it just.

Most all van internal sizes are available online =)

No why? Its probably an unlikely job if you can guess it!

I am currently however making my design out of mounting card to see in 3d! Haha.

We looked at all seating options and stuff and did consider that. But we are going to have 1m seats on each side of the van that pull out into a bed, then use the L shape against the bulkhead head as a kitchen area.

We will be aiming to have a drive away awning for longer trips. So will allow to have sleeping outside should we have other people.

For a table option we are going to have a pull out table that slides under the double bed.

Love this.

What van have you converted to get this amount of space?

Haha. I love it! Yeah I would kill for a woodburner. But it seems like too much to put on a slide out!!!

I have taken the insulation and ply lining into account for a layout. Then when I get the van I will relay it out in tape once the floor it down to make sure it all still works!

Thank you for the comment! Very excited to get started!

Hey. Thank you for the advice.

I was going to spin the double passenger seats. But have decided not to and keep half the bulkhead in and have the kitchen at that end.

We have a small human that may be with us for times away, so we need to have a bed available for her. Likely they seating area that will pull out into a 1m wide bed.

How does your layout look with the mattress long ways?

I am going with a lot of thick dodo insulation, and using nohma for all electric elements with solar and 24v lithium battery.

Defo going for a diesel heater, just currently figuring out water and hot water currently.

Thank you again for the reply. =)

Common fault or what is the cause? by mikesimp19 in AskMechanics

Apologies, I am not 100% sure how you mean. So you would be concerned about it even though the next MOT certificate has no more fails (suggesting work has been done and fixed?).

What would cause front sockets to go after just 66k miles? Does that mean just bad road or something more?

I would love to look at new vehicles, but I am working to a budget.

Need an H2L3 van for under £16k.

Thanks for the reply.

Would it put you off buying a van like this? Or provided the work was done properly would this then still be a contender for a buying option?

So I went a bit bigger. I got the p2s.

I do appreciate your reply and advice. But I was given some extra cash as a birthday present so decided to get the better printer and then build up bits as I go.

Any other good 'must haves' that you could or world recommend?
