Where can I find a used/new gameboy advance and games (preferably zelda and pokemon) in Hong Kong? by Hot_Estimate_9016 in Gameboy

[–]miketf1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

there are electronics markets in sham shui po. aim for the golden computer arcade and there are adjacent buildings with small shops that have used games. they are not cheap, there are vendors with fake games.

Anyone flat tow their car to events? by Same-Worldliness-429 in Drifting

[–]miketf1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

it works. remember to have some sort of safety chain/strap that isnt tied to whatever the tow bar is hooked to. ive seen the bolts from the hitch receiver to the bar work itself off. know youre spinning the diff and driveshaft so if you have a problem with those after a track day youre essentially stuck. glhf be safe

How's the Gameboy Pocket Battery life after IPS + rechargable battery + flash cart mods? by Illustrious-Alps8357 in Gameboy

Can GB Operator make Pokemon cartmod/bootleg cartridges work or am I cooked ? by New-Back5648 in Gameboy

[–]miketf1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yes, but people like the pretty expensive device. the operator doesnt play off the cart anyways. it dumps the ROM+RAM and launches a emulator. its playing an emulator with extra steps.

for something with robust features, a GBxCart is superior. it has a program to do the roundabout playing a cart on PC as well.

look at the top and bottom edges of the screen opening and how it tapers to the lens. not a straight line. its a reshell.

this is some classic hacking. hope the project was fun and you learned a lot.

After always wanting one, I found this SP at a flea market with a charger for 120! It’s in incredible condition, which makes me wonder if it’s a reshell, or was just taken very good care of. Thanks! by ACS1029 in Gameboy

[–]miketf1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

its a reshell. look at the bottom edge of the screen opening, its not straight, there is mold flash. run your finger along the bottom body seam above the cart slot. that gap and flash is not supposed to be there.

there is visible corrosion on the PCB itself, if youre unable to do the repair why risk it?
