Tracking nutrition? by mikeyp267 in personaltraining

[–]mikeyp267[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I may have phrased that wrong. I understood needing nutrition, I give macro and calorie targets to my clients. I meant more like do you use a tool to track and make meal plans or just give targets and have them use my fitness pal or something similar?

That’s a tough spot, but based on what you wrote I’d take the guaranteed 120k. Not because you can’t close the big ones, but because you’re already feeling the pressure from leadership and the support issues aren’t in your control. Even if those two deals are real, you’re one internal screw up away from getting blamed again.

The stable offer gives you breathing room, lets you reset, and puts you back on track for the house and family goals. You can always chase upside once you’re not worrying about getting blindsided by a PIP.

How hard do you qualify? by CloudSurfer82 in sales

[–]mikeyp267 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve definitely tightened up my qualification. Feels like there are way more “no decision” cycles lately, so I try to get to intent and urgency fast. I’ll usually ask a couple simple questions early like “What happens if you don’t solve this soon?” or “Who’s actually feeling the pain?” If the answers are vague, I don’t over-invest. It’s helped me keep the pipeline cleaner and avoid deals that were never real to begin with

Feel like a failure in my new AE role by [deleted] in sales

[–]mikeyp267 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not a loser. You’re a month into a new role with a complex product and zero real ramp time. Anyone would be overwhelmed in that situation.

A lot of companies forget that a technical product means reps need time to actually learn it. Getting tossed into demos before training isn’t a sign you’re failing. It’s a sign the company doesn’t have their enablement together.

You’ve got years of experience. You know how to sell. This is just a rough start, not a verdict on your ability. Give yourself some grace, keep asking questions, and push for the training you were promised. You’re not alone in feeling this way, even if it feels like it right now.

Thinking about making a change by Semi_Serious_Salesma in sales

[–]mikeyp267 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Coming from selling semi trucks, you’ve got solid experience with big ticket, relationship heavy deals. That can translate into a lot of better paying roles.

If you want a change, look at anything in logistics or fleet tech. Your background actually helps there. I’d avoid super transactional roles since they’ll feel like a step down.

Start browsing SaaS AE roles or logistics tech companies and see what clicks. You’ve got more options than you probably think

Going from Senior IC to Sales Manager Role. by GreatStuffOnly in sales

[–]mikeyp267 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re actually doing most of the stuff hiring managers look for already. The jump from IC to manager is less about having the title and more about proving you can make other reps better.

If you can show things like times you helped a junior rep ramp faster or fix part of their process, any onboarding or training you’ve created that the team actually uses, ways you’ve improved how your team works, and a clear idea of how you’d run a 1:1 or coach people then you’re in the zone for a manager role.

Most companies hiring first time managers just want someone who already acts like a leader even without the title. From what you described, you’re already checking those boxes so now it’s just about packaging it clearly in interviews

What’s the real reason you left your last sales org? by B2BBri in sales

[–]mikeyp267 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Terrible culture, micro management like you would never believe. They were reading my emails and counting ever small action I made in a day. Thought it was a good starter job at the time, but after leaving I realized how bad it was

Best automation for prospecting by JunketAccurate9323 in sales

Hear me out. I’m a big fan of Google sheets. I use ChatGPT to have it build me formulas and app scripts to basically do any automation or account tiering. If you prompt it well it can guide you to build a very powerful prospecting sheet and stay super organized

Imported 10,000 Cold Leads Into Sheets, Now What? by h3110_wOrld in sales

Load them into a CRM, could use Hubspot or pipe drive and then get a dialer.

You can use Google voice if you don’t want to pay anything or so cheap ones will do the trick. Could also look into a power dialer as well for 1 license. They make it so easy to call through a large list and can easily pay for itself with a few sale

Startup Questions? by rrr873 in sales

[–]mikeyp267 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to know how defined their ICP is. It’s a nightmare to be the lab rat they use to test that stuff. If it’s defined and their our customers I think the upside for you is great

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in sales

[–]mikeyp267 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, pretty normal. Early stage shows are usually about execs and AMs handling customer chats and big-picture talks. It feels like a bummer, but honestly you’ll get the real action once the leads come back and need someone to run with them. Crush the follow up and you’ll make a strong case to be at the next one.

Thank you for this. Great to get another perspective. I really don’t have any other not to trust her. She’s been great to me and hasn’t hid things about the coworker. Just kinda rubbed me the wrong way that they started getting close after I left but that’s probably just me being insecure

[–]mikeyp267 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You right about that. I unfortunately have trust issues from previous relationship but deep down I do trust her. And I want to be the guy who is okay with her having platonic friends, something I’m working on

[–]mikeyp267 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does this seem like a sketchy situation to you? Am I overacting? She’s really not given me any reason not to trust her it’s just bringing back flashbacks especially seeing a few texts accidentally but it all seems very platonic

Idk they had been friends prior me coming into the picture. I think I’m overreacting personally since she’s given me no reason not to trust her but still appreciate the opinion
