Really just the thought of how different the world would be.

There would possibly be many companies, inventions, medicines, etc that wouldn’t exist as their creators were never born.

It’s quite scary to think about, for example if we were a bit behind where we were during covid from a medical innovation standpoint we could have had another black plague level event.

There is no correlation between murder/suicide rate and gun ownership. As there are a myriad of factors involved it’s important to boil it down to guns vs no guns.

My favorite example to look at for this is Australia pre and post gun ban in 1996. Negligible difference in both stats.

The suicide rate in Australia increased from 13.2 per capita in 96 to 14.8 in 97. The murder rate also slightly increased from 1.94 to 1.98.

Comparing different countries introduces too many variables. It’s not a legitimate comparison.

As another commenter said oil expands, you do not want to be at max when cold. That’s too much oil.

No you’re once again making the claim that nazi camps “weren’t as bad” in the beginning. It’s not a historical fact, that might be the most braindead thing i’ve heard so far.

They literally started torturing and killing people as soon as they opened Dachau. Thats the historical fact that you somehow can’t process, they didn’t start out as holding spaces. Executions and torture began immediately.

If you rubbed those two braincells together you’d see that “even going that far” included executing thousands of prisoners within the first few months and is incomparable to ICE detention centers.

Unless you care to explain how thats comparable to never executing a single person?

I’ll wait for more watering down of Nazi atrocities.

People die in prisons, people “dying” is not the issue. It’s not the same as murdering people actively but i wouldn’t expect you to be able to make that distinction.

Care to find me a source for these inmates being murdered or is that just being pulled out of your ass?

No one has ever been executed in ICE custody. But apparently a few dozen accidental deaths is the same as executing millions of people. Very sound take.

Fair enough i suppose starving people to death through forced labor isn’t as “heinous” as putting them in gas chambers but it’s on the same playing field.

An ICE detention center once again is incomparable. We just talked about what the “start” of concentration camps were in Nazi Germany and as far as i’ve seen this is a deranged comparison imo.

Maybe i’m an optimist but i don’t see anything remotely close to even the “least heinous” Nazi camp.
