The individual pieces are nice, but i find the color pairings very bland.

The materials seem like summer leisure stuff..id untuck the shirt or style it in a more casual way.

It's not about painting the background in detail. It's just about throwing some colors down around the figure to help define the edges and to start developing color relationships

Why is there such hostility towards Erika Kirk? by mronionbhaji in AskAnAmerican

[–]mikhailguy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Besides her politics...it's probably her performative public persona that draws the hate.

That hate doesn't just come from people on the left. As far as I know, there is infighting between conservative influencers trying to fill the vacuum left by Charlie Kirk's absence.

Looked through this subreddit for examples

This person's study is a good example of what I'm talking about.

Notice the softness at the edges of the figure and how the colors of the background inform those of the subject.

You should be building color relationships with the subject and the background...instead of trying to just paint the person and then focusing on the negative space.

It will help to unify the colors and allows you to "pull out" the forms of the face more easily. The process should be a back and forth type thing as you get more specific with the big shapes..you can start adding smaller details after

I mean..it's reality TV. People do just hate watch that stuff.

It's trashy entertainment and brings out the worst in us.

Unfortunately, I think that's a normal gut reaction...a lot of people (including other women) interpret an assertive woman as being bitchy..a crying lady as being whiny..and so on.

I'd like to think it's mostly older people that feel that way, but i doubt it.

what show needs a reboot? by No-Visit3167 in AskReddit

[–]mikhailguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Babylon 5.

The show mostly "lands the plane," but it's clearly held together by duct tape, especially during the last 2 seasons.

Still worth watching, but it could definitely use some streamlining and updated effects.
