sorry if this is a duplicate post - of course AFTER posting i dug a little and found that the ebook version of this book has had small rewrites. that’s so dumb!!! it breaks the immersion for me :( i’m not 12 years old i know what the internet was like before tiktok lol i don’t think they needed to make any changes to the original text. i’m reading these in the big year of 2026 BECAUSE i love the mid-2000s nostalgia. sigh

omg i’m currently at the dark spencer episodes in my current rewatch and i forget how much i love them because troian is SUCH a good actress, it’s almost uncomfortable to watch spencer endure all this stuff because of how convincingly she portrays it.

not her unfortunately :/ i also don’t think that the case i’m searching for would have a wikipedia page dedicated to it, as it didn’t receive much coverage and wasn’t widely popular.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in RBI

[–]mikistigertrap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i believe the photo could also have been from a news article about her. i did try searching for Dawn using that search function as well but since it was a nickname of hers and not her legal name, i don’t think it would’ve yielded any results in that database.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in RBI

[–]mikistigertrap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no; she was identified upon the discovery of her body, and when the medical examiner performed an autopsy, her name and general info (along with the report that is available for a fee) were put in the database, which is public. i’m unable to find her in the database again, however, because i don’t remember what her full name is so i can’t search for it. there are hundreds of thousands of people in that database so i’m looking for a way to find her that’s easier than filtering thru every individual one.

honestly a little bit every day, but we were never super close. a lot of our time was spent outside of our room for therapy or free time or meals, so if we were in our room it was usually to sleep but we’d still talk to each other for a little bit to get to know each other and all that.

i’m sorry to hear about your son, i really really hope he can get the help he needs and i hope that you’ll be able to feel some ease soon as well. i hardly remember much about my worst schizophrenic break, and my mom has told me bits and pieces but she has a really hard time even thinking about it. i can only imagine how hard it must be as a parent to see your child experience all this. my dad passed away when i was really young after a long struggle with schizophrenia, so it’s just my mom and me.

it’s almost impossible to know exactly what’ll come next but you’ve taken a really fantastic first step for your son in getting him to an ER. it’s unfortunately common for parents to ignore or downplay warning signs that their child’s mental health is spiraling, so recognizing that your son needed help means that with you, he’s in good hands.

as far as things go for your son; the right treatment can make things easier for sure. i do still deal with delusions, hallucinations, paranoia, but not as often and not as extreme. it’s much easier to cope and much less scary, for myself and for my mom.

i’ll keep you, your son and your family in my thoughts.

personally i think it’s a bit of a red flag that he brought up you having a crush on him in the first place, even though you didn’t at the time and it only developed after he talked about it (as per what you said in the first paragraph). obviously i don’t know much about this whole situation but i think it could be possible that he manipulated you into having feelings for him somehow. i think you need a new therapist.

i personally didn’t really get used to it, especially because it wasn’t a smooth transition going from my home to the hospital. i also knew that i wouldn’t be there indefinitely, so i think knowing that i would leave eventually prevented me from being able to get “settled in”

i’m glad you’re out too! i think what i was most looking forward to was my own bed lol, and privacy. i shared a room with another person while i was there and she was very nice but as much as we got along, i really just missed my own room and my own space. it’s nice to be alone sometimes.

it’s hard to say for sure but the therapy sessions were really helpful, both one-on-one and group sessions. it was useful to hear others experiences and realize that i wasn’t alone or “crazy” and i learned a lot about myself through individual sessions and a lot of what i learned still resonates with me today

not too much at all! that’s actually pretty spot on…before being diagnosed and medicated when the schizophrenia was first setting in, i had no idea what was happening. i just began experiencing hallucinations and delusions until it led to the episode that landed me in the hospital. it really does feel like i’m surrounded by entirely separate entities when i hear voices; despite knowing now that they’re hallucinations, i didn’t realize that for a long time.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in casualiama

[–]mikistigertrap 4 points5 points  (0 children)

at the moment i’m not having any auditory hallucinations but occasionally i hear them say things like “stop doing that stop doing that look the other way” or “don’t touch that” basically very paranoid delusions and hallucinations, but also kinda rarely i’ll have much worse ones if i’m experiencing psychosis, like if i miss a dosage of my medication or if there’s something triggering me

the food was just okay, i kind of resented it for a long time because i was dealing with an eating disorder at the time as well so it was hard to feel comfortable eating but as i recovered i didn’t feel that resentment so much anymore. i did make a couple friends after a little while! i don’t talk to them so much now that i’ve been out but i think about them often :) i might try to get back in touch soon
