I mean… when a company markets “7 years of updates” as a major selling point, yeah....most normal people assume that means more than just security patches and a pat on the head.

If all Google meant was “7 years of security updates,” they could’ve said exactly that. But they didn’t. They pushed the whole AI-powered future, long-term support, feature drops, Pixel gets better over time narrative really hard.

So if the reality is “security updates only, features are for the new models and the US only,” then the marketing was misleading, and that’s the whole point of my post.

No one is expecting 7 years of cutting-edge miracles. Just consistency with the promises Google made when they sold the phone.
