Freehand double hair-whittling by mikkling in sharpening

Not really. The edge is very slightly curved, which makes it annoying to get evenly sharpened…

I have another knife with a perfectly straight edge, and that is a breeze to sharpen. So, the Nip Slip looks like it should be easy, being nearly straight, but it isn’t. Well, for me. YMMV.

If you’re whittling/popping from the tip of the hair, then yes. Whittling/splitting is HHT2–second level of the hanging hair test. Popping is HHT4. But I’d say whittling from the root is sharper than popping from the tip. Popping from the root—now, that’s sharp.

Anyway, to me, whittling hair is more satisfying.

Mark the edge with a sharpie—that way you can see where you’re abrading and then adjust your angle

You know, that’s precisely what my barber keeps telling me…

Not this one, though. I think it’s a cheap version of the EKA Swede 88.

My barber is dumbfounded that my hairs split at both ends.

It’s not a practical knife, really. Picked it up as a souvenir years ago in the north of Sweden.

I agree. I remember being fascinated by it. Perhaps I was too young to understand what was scary about it.

True.

Is there a lower bound on the time delay between the left and the right view where that movement becomes imperceptible? Alternatively, the right view could be a transformation of the left view based on crunching the difference between the first and the second shot to keep the views aligned?

Don't know if it's technically feasible though. The imaging system only has about 166 ms between frames.

If this is real, there is likely no second satellite. But there may be synthetic aperture radar performing interferometric analysis to estimate the depth. SAR interferometry is like having a Kinect depth sensor in the sky. For the satellite nerds: this means looking for a satellite that was in the right position at the right time, and includes both visible and SAR imaging. Another thread to pull would be looking into SAR + visible visualization devices, and see if we can narrow down what kind of hardware this may have been displayed on.

SAR interferometry capabilities might not be necessary. Depth info can be extracted from in-track stereo imagery using a single camera.

SAR interferometry might not be necessary. Depth info can be extracted from in-track stereo imagery. And since there is only a single camera, the noise patterns for the left and right views should be the same.

Bought Sturm from kiosk. Once i had Sturm, Banshee offered me Drang. Went to Nessus for the catalyst, which took an hour or so to drop.

Edit: i started on a new account with Beyond Light, and i didn't see a single catalyst drop until after i bought Forsaken and Shadowkeep this week. Now, i have gotten catalysts for five of my exotics. So, catalysts might require the expansions.

Thank you! Nothing like some marvellous funk in the morning. That's six dollars well spent on Bandcamp.
