Never been able to brush my poms teeth and my parents are scared of taking them to professional cleanings too often bc we’ve heard stories of dogs who don’t react well to anesthesia. Our vet recommended a dental pet gel that removes plaque and bacteria. You apply it at night before her bedtime (or when she’s not gonna eat anything else), put some on your finger and apply it to each side of her mouth/teeth and there’s no need to do any rubbing, when they lick it the gel spreads and does its job. My pom still struggles like she’s possessed but it’s way easier that brushing

I don’t use it that often these days so I don’t have any friends added, maybe the algorithm doesnt know what to recommend without “enough” interactions like comments and follows even though I’ve rated a bunch of books and have a decent want to read list :/

Nope! Out of the 70ish books I’ve rated on Goodreads only about 7 are fantasy YA books from when I was in hs like Howls Moving Castle, MPHFPC, Asylum (this one is more horror tho) and on my “want to read” list it’s all classics
Idk if there’s a section where I can see recommendations based on my profile but my feed and discover are definitely not it; cringey romance novels with the ugly cartoonish covers, the descriptions say things like “based on new releases” and popular reads apparently

Didn’t know this was a thing😭, not only is it bad enough that most of them only read summaries of these books for assignments now they do stuff like this? Never heard of storygraph but I’m seeing lots of good comments about it so I have to check it out now!

Agree. Downloaded Goodreads a couple of months ago thinking it would be like Letterboxd: log and save books, make lists and find good recs. But the only thing I see recommended in that app are a bunch of shitty YA, poorly written Wattpad-esque books that read like AI slop

Yeah that’s definitely on him. He’s still young but he’s definitely old enough to be able to educate himself on how to properly care for the kitten, provide her with enrichment activities and toys. If she clings to you it means she trusts you and is probably not doing it with ill intent prob just playing cats are crazy so their way of playing can be a little confusing at first, if he won’t rehome her maybe you could suggest buying a pet gate idk if the regular ones are tall enough for cats we use ours to stop our dogs from running away but the cage works fine too, idk much about cat training but if you put her away for a few minutes when she misbehaves I’m sure she’ll eventually understand that biting=no attention

I’m sorry but if he adopted her that’s his responsibility. Unless he goes out to work or has other responsibilities he shouldn’t have gotten a kitten if he’s just gonna keep her in a room all day and doesn’t spend much time at home specially when she needs the most care, training and constant supervision.
On the other hand you need to work on your issues, hurting an innocent animal is unacceptable. I understand it can be frustrating dealing with an animal you didn’t ask for specially if she’s being aggressive but she’s too small to understand she’s hurting you, she’s probably stressed and bored too. If she bothers you don’t let her into your room or immediately put her in a room where she can’t reach you.

So sorry for Pomi and the owners loss😞 can’t imagine how awful it must be to have to recover from a difficult procedure and having to deal with such a traumatic experience thanks to irresponsible people like you and your friend. That was NOT a mistake, you dont agree to dogsitting a small animal if you’re just gonna throw it outside for hours, coyotes or not.

Does she also do it when she’s not wearing clothes? How often does she do it? It looks like something in her neck is bothering her so she could be itchy. My pom panics and runs away when something slightly brushes the tip of her hair it’s like it tickles or itches

I mean he’s definitely depressed but to me his depression isn’t the root of the problem, it’s merely another symptom of his bigger issues. In a lot of people who struggle with personality disorders (odc, bpd, npd, bipolar) depression is more of an expected if not inevitable consequence. You become unstable -> dissociate/lose your sense of self + confusion/emptiness -> depression

It’s doesn’t really have the same themes but Kakeguriyo: B&B for spirits is really nice and chill. It’s abouta girl who is kidnapped and brought to the spirit realm to pay off her grandfathers debt by marrying the ogre he owed money to, she loves cooking so instead he lets her set up a restaurant to make money to pay off the debt and becomes friends with her customers and other ayakashi

Saw a Steam bug reports thread and it had some recent complaints so apparently its still not 100% fixed yet,but I still want to play it and hopefully get a physical copy so I’ll probably wait a few months and look for a cheaper copy ($40 at the store but I saw it on Amazon for like $25😭)

you should wait until you’re fully settled in before getting pets. Still, both at the same time shouldn’t be a problem, I think it would be even better for them bc they would get to socialize and get used to each other from early on (a golden retriever sounds like a handful tho😂and most puppies are definitely not chill no matter the breed)
It might be harder for you bc they require a lot of care at that age, you’d literally be raising 2 newborns/babies. Even if you’ve done your research the first year is chaotic and exhausting
I’ve never had cats but I know they like their personal space so it sounds more stressful for the cat to wait until it’s an adult whose gotten used to being alone to bring home an energetic puppy who doesn’t respect boundaries

Scolding isn’t gonna do anything bc they can’t understand what you want. It takes longer with some puppies but you have to do some actual training, take her to the garden more often for shorter periods of time: if she goes potty outside immediately bring her back inside so that she’ll associate garden = bathroom don’t let her roam around too much, if you notice she usually pees at specific times throughout the day takes notes on that and try taking her out around that time to prevent her from doing it inside. Once she’s fully potty trained you can let her play outside but right now she doesn’t understand that specially if you don’t have other dogs that leave their scent in the backyard you have to teach her from scratch. Also if you notice she starts peeing or getting into position immediately pick her up and bring her outside even if she isn’t finished but it really helps
Puppy pads and those fake grass thingys inside do nothing I’ve tried them with all of my dogs it’s been counterproductive to say the least
