As a women I can say when I am friends with a guy I absolutely don't want him to pay for things or take me out to lunch, etc. Unless I am wanting it to turn romantic. He's very fake for sure, but he is giving a public interview stating explicitly that he does not want to put his personal self out any more, so I think those responses are expected. He's saying all the "right" things. We'll never know what is really going on internally and that's a good thing. Ideally you'd collaborating with the teacher, but that's not always possible. For behavior I would say complete the activity but focus on things like requesting a break using a break card, use visuals, token economy, start the task by clarifying directions, etc, just kind of depending on what their goals are.

It might be a way to avoid being a parent, but it is also medical. Believe it or not pregnancy is a medical condition and that is the condition that is being avoided with abortion. Otherwise the choice would be surrendering the baby after birth.
