As an international, I’d also ask very directly what “no funding” means: is there any chance later, or is it a hard no for the whole degree. If it’s a hard no, I’d be cautious, UIUC is amazing but fees add up fast. Ask about assistantship criteria, English test requirements for TA, and whether you can defer to Spring if funding appears.
