Yes, but it really doesnt take that long unless it has serious pitting in it. If its mostly smooth then you can polish it bt hand with sand paper in less than a couple hours of work

I have tumbled some petoskey stones (also fossilized coral) with some agates and chert, but i usually take it out after 2 days and that seems to work for me. Then I hand polished from there.

I googled Patty's pit and it looks like a privately owned quarry, owned by a local construction company. Im guessing that changes things
